kyoto imperial palace some trees ~5 or 6 already near full bloom.
arashiyama only about 3 or 4 trees start to bloom. mostly have not bloom yet.
maruyama park maybe 2 to 4 trees blooming.
went to these places only. go to imperial palace if you are rushing for time.

I just saw the trip report on Japan guide as well, in that case may wait another day or so before I go to Kyoto. Haven't been to any of these places yet, last year I only went to Plilosopher's walk and Keage incline.

Doesnot look like any early cherry blossom as predicted .

I was at Osaka / Kyoto / Nara 1st week of April
2014 & it was 100% then & look like early April is best in 2016 for Kansai / Tokyo area.

some people were asking about heattech earlier... happened to pop by a few uniqlos here in kyoto... they already changed the clothes on display... now is all "Airism" stuff. one store i went into have zero heattech items on display...

... and the airism stuff are getting really sheer now... especially with the new "no seams" version

and today on a particular stretch of the kamogawa.... (this is the only place I saw with such a almost complete bloom in kyoto)

Any of you Japan-second-home peeps know where are good places around Nagano/Yudanaka Onsen for mid-April sakura? My parents will be there 14th April for a few days, wondering if there's any sakura viewing spots around the area (that don't involve too much travelling).

Yup this time only UNIQLO in SG will still have heat tech... Other places already move to spring stuff

Looks like I am too early... Gonna spend tomr looking for good food to eat instead of searching for sakura

Oh I checked Parkway Parade the day before I left still loads of the heat tech. Bedok is a smaller shop
