Oic which means if those areas already start to bloom even abit means in march will not see any sakura?

most breeds of sakura only bloom once per year as far as i know... there is one breed that blooms a few time

the current cold front coming into japan will no doubt save the plans for many sakura viewers

Sakura forecast. It seems at least for Kanto and Kansai. It is average or just slightly later than normal.

Just as I thought.. one cold snap will not affect the overall warm winter..

It's still about 2 months from the usual end March blooming period, so anything can still happen.
I'd take these sakura prediction reports with a pinch of salt for now, until nearer to March.

Other than Kawazu, does anyone know of any places with early sakura blooming in Feb?

depends on how long the cold snap will sustain and if the weather goes back to the warmer than usual weather (as before the cold snap) i guess

the sakuras in Amami Oshima are in full bloom! 4 days later than usual. Thanks to the recent chill no doubt. They actually started blooming 2 weeks earlier.

I'll be visiting Osaka/Kyoto/Miyajima/Kanazawa/Gero onsen/Nagoya/Kawazu in mid-end Feb.

Do u think I'll still need a winter jacket? Or just a regular autumn jacket (for 12-20 degrees) will do?
I'm only worried that even if autumn jacket suffices for most of the trip, but Kanazawa and Gero onsen might be too cold without winter jacket.

I really wanna avoid bring both jackets.
