Am thinking of visiting Tokyo during March school holidays (around 17th march). What are the odds of seeing Sakura during mid-March? Based on this year's winter snow storms and all. Probability of an early bloom??

Still too early to say though.

But back in 2013 when I visited Tokyo, the sakura bloomed 2 weeks earlier than normal which was 16 March onwards, so I was lucky to be there at that time because I wasn't expecting to catch the blooming period.

I guess if it blooms at the annual period, I can only run around the parks in Tokyo to catch the early bloomers.

All the years is 1st Week of April to 2nd Week is the best.

17th March may still in Winter.

When I did my trip in last week of March in 2012, was still Winter around 5 degrees...
