Anyone buy locally or from Amazon?
Locally is $770
Amazon is $580 inclusive of shipping

Safer to buy locally for SSDs?

If you feel the savings are worth it and don't mind the hassle of RMA process, then go ahead.

But then again, SSDs rarely should have problems?
I upgraded my work laptop with a MX500 with no problem so far.

SSD failure rate is actually quite low. I got quite a number of SSDs from Amazon at very good savings.

Just bought a 860 Evo 1TB at $250+ from Amazon. Their prices are very good.

Normally the prices locally won't be able to match those on Amazon when its on sale. I do suggest you wait for Black Friday to buy from Amazon.
