Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 deliver the metal design we all wanted!
Samsung Galaxy A5
Samsung's new Galaxy A5 and A3 have premium designs, but a mid-range spec
Samsung have unveiled a couple of new smartphones and the big news is that they are the Korean companies first smartphones which come with unibody metal chassis.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 and the Galaxy A3 both go beyond the Galaxy Alpha, which featured a metal surrounding frame but was still essentially a plastic device. Despite their metal design the new smartphones are thin at just 6.9mm and 6.7mm, and lightweight at 123g and 110g respectively.
Both are available in choice of Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue and Champagne Gold.
Before you get all excited thinking these are the Samsung flagships you've been waiting for you should bear in mind these are both mid-range devices, which are designed to appeal to the younger crowd thanks to their excellent social features, selfie cameras and lower prices (yet to be determined).
However, the specification is far from shabby with the Samsung Galaxy A5 coming with a 5-inch display and the smaller A3 having a 4.5-inch screen with both running at 1280*720 pixels. Both are powered by 1.2Ghz quad-core processors, have 16GB of storage, 5 mega-pixel front-facing cameras and come pre-loaded with Android KitKat (4.4).
Samsung Galaxy A3 - Blue
The Galaxy A5 comes with a 13 mega-pixel rear-facing snapper, while the A3 comes with a still perfectly adequate 8 mega-pixel camera. Both support 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC.
The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 will begin rolling out worldwide in November.
This new breed of premium-built Samsung smartphones has got us all excited for the launch of the Galaxy S6. Stay posted for our high quality Galaxy S6 concept which we'll be unveiling early next week!
