Under connection sim manager, there is no option to add esim either manually or scanning QR code. The option to add mobile plan is just missing. Anyone knows how?

head to Settings > About phone > Software information > Service provider software version

List of models that only support Nano SIM:
SM-A546B (International Model), SM-A546E (International Model), SM-A546E/DS (International Model), SM-A546U (International Model), SM-A546V (International Model), SM-A5460 (International Model)

List of models that support nano SIM and eSIM:
SCG21 (Japanese Model), SC-53D (Japanese Model), SM-A546B/DS (International Model), SM-A546S (Korean Model), SM-A546U1 (International Model)

Info pulled from https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-a-series/samsung-a54-5g-no-esim/td-p/8353531

If you want ESIM, the safest route is still high-end phones etc... Samsung S series

Samsung Singapore's site does not mention eSIM at all on the specs. We can presume it does not have any eSIM support.

eSIM support for the A54 is limited to certain regions, such as the UK. It's specifically mentioned in the spec sheet.

Thanks, guys. Painful lesson. Before buying, a quick google showed a54 supports esim. Before buying airalo esim, a check on its supported models also showed a54. Sigh.

That's the problem with manufacturers releasing multiple variants of the same phone in different countries.
Not just limited to samsux.

Always check with SG website for the variant of the phone model before buying

Anyways airalo already started the fine print at the bottom

*Galaxy A54 5G eSIM availability may vary depending on country/region and carrier. Please contact your carrier or device manufacturer to confirm that your Galaxy A54 5G device is eSIM-capable.

fyi, mid-range models with esim, can consider these 2 models

scroll down to "Network & Connectivity" section
https://www.mi.com/sg/product/redmi-note-13-pro-5g/specs
https://www.mi.com/sg/product/redmi-note-13-pro-plus-5g/specs

note: the other models in redmi note 13 range, do not support esim
Well, Samsung a54 was also marketed as having eSIM support but then varies depending on different regional versions as I have now found out. Wonder will other manufacturers also practice this.

Singapore A54 got dual SIM slot, So no eSIM.
But there is Software eSIM support in the market for Android non-eSim phone.
