Anyone looking forward to the Samsung Ativ Tab 3? Any news on its price and availability in Singapore?

Samsung ATIV Tab 3 - PC productivity in Tablet mobility

Seems like a great combination of portability (a mere 550g), full Windows 8, S-Pen, good battery life. Only thing is that the price is a little on the steep side (US$699, but comes with keyboard), and the screen resolution is not the best.

its US$699 in the States.. somewhat expensive but I don't see any other tablets similar to it in terms of stylus + light weight.

no further news for this one?

i tried asking on Samsung Singapore Facebook page but they refused to give me any details (or maybe they don't know)

Since I need it for school urgently, I'm probably getting the ASUS vivotab smart LTE version from Comex. More or less the same, just without digitiser stylus.

hm the tab 5 looks good but I'm wondering if adding 200g of weight for an extra 1.5" of screen estate is worth it... (compared to the tab 3)

and there's still no news on the tab 3 anywhere!

$1899 just for the i5? too much premium in it. I'm afraid that Samsung's brand doesn't cost that much, plus the plastic body.

At the same price I can get a Surface Pro + Surface RT yet having 100 dollars left.

Just wait for the Surface Pro 2 that'll be announced this month.

For me, I am not aiming to get ativ 3. Asus transformer Book T100 appeal to me more.

The Transformer T100 looks really good but too bad, it doesn't have digitizer pen functionality. For my work, I need to write pretty often.

I heard that theres an Ativ store in SLS, has anyone been there yet? I hope the Tab 3/5 is on display there...

Why write when you can type? You can just a get a capacitive stylus to write.

Asus vivotab smart doesn't come with stylus.

If you have Samsung note II, you will know how writing is inconvenient on tablet or screen.

I tried capacitive stylii and they simply do not work well on normal tablet screens (for writing), because the tips are too fat. And I actually used the "good" stylii like the iFaraday and Jot Pro too.

The Note II worked pretty ok, just that the screen is too small to do any meaningful work. I had it for a couple months.

Anyway, I do need to write because my work involves writing equations and so on. If not, I wouldn't have bothered with a digitizer screen which is more expensive than a normal one.

Wait for the surface pro 2 or the vaio tap 11?

Both have 1920 x 1080 resolution and latest gen haswell i5/i7 processor.

Yeah those 2 look interesting as well.
However, they are at a different price point, though I'd have to see how much higher.
I guess the Ativ Tab 3 is for those who are more budget-minded and value battery life over performance. I do wish there was more ram though.
