jus tried the beam, thickness wise same as my N97, but its the width and length that i gt to get used to.

Projector and camera quite ez to use, im ok with the flash, screen good.

My complain nw is both the projector and camera no cover, i m a rough person, doubt t will survive me.

Also gt to wait till reviews on video playback and when can get froyo.
big and bulky + android = geek big time :s13:

how? :(

tried the beam at starhub ps....not too impressed by the phone...feels a slight bit laggy + screen not as good compared to galaxy s.

it is very laggy. even when returning to home screen. it lags.
those who are particular abt speed, should not consider the Beam.

screen-wise, so far so good. responsiveness is fine but the screen produces quite a fair bit of friction when swiping with fingers.

will beam overheat due to projector?

dunno. ripper has been playing with the projector for a while. it is indeed warm. but not very hot.

time will tell.

ripper managed to squeeze out some time in the morning to go to PS for the launch and see see look look, in the end, bought the Beam on impulse :D

the Beam is on launch promotion offer, so it's $50 cheaper.
with smartsurf100 - $348
with smartsurf300 - $148
+
gift certificate worth $150

Can the beam play 720p files directly without any conversion like GS?

And how laggy is the lag compared to GS? Am using GS now, and so far no lag, everything is fast without much delay.

first impressions

battery - started the day at 60% or so. now it's 2%. guai guai charging now :(
camera - better than what i tested for demo sets. dun ask me why :D
pinchzoom - works perfectly. didn't encounter the problem i had with the demo set too. :D
projector - it is alot more fun than i imagined it to be. very impressive and bright images at short range (1-2m) even under ample ambient daylight indoors :D
physicals - bulky. still pocketable despite its weight and size.
screen - sharp, crisp, bright. responsive but friction tends to retard swiping.
speed - the lag is quite bad. really. especially after playing with it for some time, the lag gets worse. ripper is not one who is super particular abt lags, but sometimes the lag is so bad, it gets on ripper's nerves :s27:. hopefully app killer can improve this or otherwise, can only wait for froyo to swoop in and save the day.

overall - ripper is quite happy with the phone. so far so fun! :s13:

haven't tried coz dun have the files.
but dun perceived it to be a problem coz the video taken by the cam is even higher res than 720p

not familiar with the GS, but this beam baby is certainly not speedy
