That's one of the main reason. Another reason could be lacks of manpower in the SG office. Flagship devices required 2-3 months of testing locally before its launching. I think their priority goes to flagships around this period.

No one knows the actual reason except themselves. Anyway, I won't choose SG sets for mid range devices. It cost more but lower specs and slower updates.
