Happened to my old Note 2... just died one day. It was replaced under warranty, just before it expired.

At $350, better to buy a new phone. Not sure if it is psychological, but after it was replaced, I felt that the Note 2 lags a bit, so I sold it shortly.

my wife's note 2 mb spoilt as well , the male cso helped me talk to his manager for discount . end up i paid $150 plus if i am not mistaken.

apparently when i collected the phone after repaired , got 2 person have the mb problem on note 2 , when i asked the female cso what could be the cause of it , she said cannot leave the phone to be charge overnight.

not sure if the the female cso tried to smoke me or not. lol

ya if not buy a xiaomi then can wait for note 4. hehe
