When i bought no mark scratches. It is so tiny u cant see it. Chrome is poor lousy quality. Need buy case to cover it. Chrome side worst than iphone 4 side. I go buy iphone 5c.

It is not because of chrome, it is because Samsung chrome it badly with poor material and surface preparation. Personally I face this problem in my daily works. Please take a look at Samsung Store on those displayed note 3 where a lot of people touch and knock, you will notice how bad the chrome is.:s22: Maybe Samsung planed that every yemar you will change handset with new galaxy model.

Generally, iPhone has better finishes and design. However, on other aspects, they really having hard time to catch up Samsung note 3. After using it for about a week, I am very impressed with the smoothness of Note 3 and battery performance with such a big screen. So cover the rim if you do not like it and enjoy the rest of it.

Singaporeans very weird. dunno whats the obsession with phone covers. let the phone wears armour until fat, ugly n heavy. while the resale value drop so fast esp end of one two yrs the scratches do not matter anymore for resale.

one thing I dont understand. some say it is operating fast and battery can last. some say it is laggy and battery drain fast.

so which one? these are major consideration for me. (NB: I dont like apple iPhone because of small screen and iTunes.)

lemme put it this way.

android users can adjust the os or apps settings to make the battery last longer...

while iphone users need to wait for a patch.

It's simple.
Why don't you just go to Samsung and play with a demo set?

i am a heavy android user n can say have used most of the high end phones
this N3 is blazing fast, spen functionality very much improved over N2 n excellent battery life n SOT of 6 to 7 hours is common
some user expectations could be higher but than till now only the XZU is a close match to it. I too has the XZU whose main scoring point ( if one consider so) is its bigger display size
this N3 does not lag n as i had never like touchwiz i use holo launcher. Except for some samsung widgets not available everything unique from Samsung is working fine
just remember there will always be haters no matter how good the product it
read this forum or malaysia lowyat forum you will find more praises than negative comments

I went. but because my wife with me, only had three minutes. anyway I also dunno what things to test. eg like batt drain, how to test? and if I never come into this thread, I won't know what are the problems with this phone. at store u able to test everything n discover all faults? not practical leh. probably only to see the design, feel the finishing n weight.

Lag is a very subjective thing, so is battery life. I can confidently say I have yet to encounter lag, and battery life has been phenomenal like the Note 2 for me. But again some people have a different tolerance for lag, or some have unrealistic expectations, like wanting the phone to last 3 days with heavy usage, and then declaring poor battery life when it doesn't.

Go read a few reviews, and then judge for yourself. There are a few good ones floating around including the hwz one.

But you came from Note 1 should understand battery life differs for each person. Remember the guy with incredible battery life but when he post his usage graph it was because he hardly used it at all?

If you want to take it at face value from a fellow Note 1 user, Note 2 has much better battery life than Note 1, and now Note 3 is definitely near Note 2 or on part.

I suggest you wait till a later period to decide if you're relying solely on others' reviews. Usually during the initial period, the nitpickers and ardent fans will be super vocal. Won't be able to get an accurate picture.

Based on my own experience though, Note 3 is indeed smooth in terms of operations. In fact, Note 2 was just as smooth too. Battery-wise, having used a Note 2 before, it seems that both phones have comparable battery life, not much difference between both. However, what Note 3 adds to the table is the improvements to the S Pen. Simply love the various unique functionality of the S pen. In the past, stylus serves purely the function of a stylus. And that's why it got obsolete pretty soon.

If you're using a Note 1 and you have no complaints about it, note 3 is definitely a worthy if not the best upgrade.

Note 1 to Note 2 is already an amazing upgrade, let alone from Note 1 to Note 3.

When i got the phone, i let it drain till 15% then charge it overnight till the green LED light comes on, then had moderate usage for the whole day (30 mins call time, occasional checking of emails, check social media every 2 hrs, light surfing, download few apps) end of the night at abt 9pm still got 30% battery...

If previously you are using Note 1 and now using Note 3..most of the people will probably love their Note 3 more..their difference are too great..

I don't really have a problem with them functioning, but it does take a bit to get used to using them. Also, I think it doesn't work like the S4's air gestures in the sense that you now need to indicate which apps you want it to be enabled in.

The problem I have with them is that the sensor still seems to be turned on even when you turn the feature off. Try this: turn off air gestures, set the lockscreen effect to watercolour, turn off your screen then turn it back on. At the lockscreen, hover your finger over the screen and see if the watercolour effect appears. Theoretically, the sensor should be off to conserve power, but... :s11:

They went through so much to conserve power with this phone, even fixing the pixel-lag that the S4 suffered from at launch that caused smearing so that blacks on the Note 3 are now truly black, but then they screw up this sensor thing. :s8:

Try putting a black wallpaper on the Note 3 and any other amoled device like the S4 and see them in the dark, the Note 3 is completely invisible but the S4 has a faint gray light because the pixels are still turned on ;)

My Note 3 does not seem to be so sensitive ....
