Turn off auto-syncing of date, set the date to something other than 30 September (before or after also can). It should work then.

Or maybe wait for 30 September to pass and hope the bug doesn't affect days after it.

Some possibilities:

1. A rogue app wakelocking your phone. Some live wallpapers can do this too. I once installed a beautiful sakura live wallpaper that killed my S3's battery in record time because it was constantly sending data out for some reason. Uninstalled asap.
2. Poor network connection causing battery drain while trying to find a stable connection.
3. If you're connected to a wifi network, something else on the network might be constantly pinging your phone, wakelocking it.
4. "Location services -> Use wireless networks" option is on. This thing is known to wakelock your phone, and gets worse if you have more apps that keep asking for your phone's location. I've seen it keep my old S3 awake for 2.5 hours before.

Unfortunately, to recognize which problem it is, the easiest way is to install BetterBatteryStats (which is not free iirc) and post the logs up here (or at XDA), then we can advise you on the app(s) causing the battery drain.

My own N3 went from full charge to about 65% after about 10 hours with moderate s pen usage (s pen usage increases battery consumption) and it's constantly paired with the Galaxy Gear.
Had no idea live wallpaper was a possible cause. Yikes! Have switched to a normal wallpaper.

I only turn on wifi at home and at work as I know the signals are strong. No longer bother trying to log on to wireless@sg. Waste of time and battery life.

Have since turned off "user wireless networks" under location service.

First day at work with my Note 3. Was a busy day so not much time to surf around. Checked a few emails now and then. Went on FB once or twice and did a bit of web surfing during lunch. As of now battery is 86%. Is this considered okay?

Yesterday I was listening to music for about 30 mins and spent about 30 mins checking emails, on FB and web surfing. By end of day it was about 68%. Is this considered okay?

Do take note that if you turn off "Location services -> Use wireless networks", your apps won't be able to determine location I think.

Apps like weather widgets, calendar widgets, Google Now or those social network apps.

hi guys, im having some problem with my note 3 (i think?).

my problem is that, when i plug a headset in and use it for phone call (be it normal call or internet call like line/skype), i can hear a bit of my feedback and that it is especially obvious if i try to blow into the mic. i have tried 2 headsets and the outcome is the same even though i dont have such problems when i use the same headsets on my note 1.

funny thing is, when i head down to plaza sing's customer service centre and i told them about my problem, the customer service personnel then talked to the technician, and she told me that she tried it on 3 different note 3, and when they blow into the mic, they could hear it.

just want to check with u guys if u all are experiencing the same thing? or isit just me.

oh btw i have to speak really close to the mic like 1cm then theres such effect, but still.. never had that in my note 1.

wind blow from a distance confirm can hear as well..

Try playing around with the Call Settings? Is it something to do with the in-call equalizer or noise cancellation?

Anyway I just realized there's a Search bar right inside Settings. Lol smart phone woes. Too many settings until you need a Search Bar right inside Settings.

Also, just realize Page Buddy (first introduced on Note 2?) is no longer available? Haha funny how Samsung introduces the feature, competitor copies it, and now Samsung removes it. Anyway I personally don't really find the Page Buddy useful though I can see how it can be useful for others.

I think the stock live wallpapers don't drain much battery, but some third party ones do. I prefer static wallpapers now anyway =:p

It's hard to say what's considered normal due to different usage scenarios. For comparison, mine went from full charge at 8am to about 65% right now. Usage was about the same as yours, except instead of listening to music, I was reading news for over an hour in total over 4G. It was connected to the Gear via bluetooth for the whole day too, and I used the camera function quite a bit. The battery summary screen shows 14h 22min with slightly under 2 hrs of screen time. I don't know the norm for the Note 3 yet, but again for comparison Note 2 users could normally hit about 6 to 7 hours of screen time on a full charge and the Note 3 is rumoured to do better. I'll only know the norm after a few cycles of usage after I exchange mine - I got a lemon set where the display has blue streaks :vijayadmin:

taking 13mb pixel photo?

try taking 8mb photo and see whether got the same issue or not leh.

changed to 8MP photo setting, still have that 1 or 2-second processing... initially i thought because I chose to save the photo to my microSD card, hence the processing time.. but after changing to device storage, the processing time is still there after taking every photo... is it the same for you all? :s12::s22::s11:

Turn off smart stabilization. The phone post-processes photos on the spot when you turn that on. Just to be sure, smart stabilization seems to function like night mode. Turn it on for low light photos. Samsung's naming is seriously silly.

Yes. It is the smart stabilization that causing the 1sec processing time...

The productivity tools feature seems to be absent in the new S note. Anyone know if it's hidden somewhere?
