Hello all Seniors!,

I'm new here my friend introduce me this forum to ask question from the experts here.
I'm currently using S2 from M1 now. My plan completed 2 years and would like to sign a new plan. Those $30+ per month type.
I checked Singtel , Starhub , M1 and find that Singtel is cheapest. Is it possible for me from M1 change to Singtel?

Then of also friends recommend me to get Note 3 as it's the lastest. But i dont wish to go for lastest treant but useful for me.
I will be using the phone more on Google Map ( MOST IMPORTANT ) , Youtube , Email and etc... I'm just a normal user not those very into phones.

My dad say Chinatown is the cheapest to get phone. I'm wondering how much i can get for the phone + sign plan? On the Singtel web i saw is $600+.
Can i sign plan with 2nd hand note 3? Would like to check the price.

Thanks Senior and Expert for reading.
And i'm really sorry if i committed any thing againts the forum rules.

MERRY X'MAS TO ALL!!!!
Hello. U can change telco, just need to do number porting.

No. You cannot sign plan with 2nd hand phone.

Plan with new phone means you pay monthly subscription phone u will get at subsidised rate. E.g. Note3 just phone BN is 880. But with plan 300. Depending on your subscription plan.

You don't follow trend but is good to get current model.
I suggest Note 3 but if too ex then take Sony Xeperia Ultra. Sony best deal but Samsung many accessories.

You have 2 best choices.

It is either Note 3.

or

HTC One Max.

Even though HTC One Max is still using Snapdragon 600, but it is still super fast and smooth, thanks to the awesome Sense 5.5.

Played with the HTC One Max. Really fast and no lag. HTC Sense is more stable than Note 3 imo, having own both the HTC One and Note 3.

Wow!
Really thanks alot seniors! Not only you guys helped with me question but given me option of other phone! I've checked afew phone price and considering very much.
Samsung Note 3 LTE - $618 for $30+ per month plan. ( What is the watch for? ) Can i dont want that?
Samsung S4 LTE - $488 for $30+ per month plan.
Sony Xperia Z1 - $498 for $30+ per month plan.
Sony Xperia Z Ultra - $528 for $30+ per month plan.
HTC One Max - $598 for $30+ per month plan.

Will the store in Chinatown help me cancel my M1 to use Singtel? or must i go to a Singtel outlet?
If chinatown is able to do that, they might sell the phone more cheaper correct?

Thanks all senior's for the help!!!

Just tell SingTel that you wanna port over your current M1 number to Singtel when you buy and sign up the plan.

Singtel will do everything for you. You don't need to do a thing.

A reminder. HTC One Max is out of stock in most of the Singtel Hello shops as of yesterday.

Also, beware of buying phone in Chinatown. Some of the shops are bad ass!

You just go to Singtel Hello shops to buy. No difference in price. It is standard price for signing up a plan.

guys, can let me know if you have any problem transferring files using usb 3? I have selected MTP USB 3.0 on my phone. If the file is small or have very little files in the folder, i experience no prob. But if it's almost 1gb or a lot of files inside, it will transfer fast for a while, then it will slow down and it will cause my system to hang. Usually to the extend of hanging my windows explorer. :(

Hi bro kelvinti,

BTW do you happen to know what is the difference between buying a new phone (direct from Samsung instead of any telco) or getting a phone from any shop that is sold by a walk-in customer (customer signed from telco and sold to the shop), any difference ?

I kena conned once, gotten an S4 and I specifically requested that I want a new phone with a sealed box but ended up with a re-sealed box meaning the box has been opened before and re-packaged back.

Pls advise, thanks for the input ;)

Those non-telco related's retail shops are selling 2 types of phones.

1. Sealed box. Meaning that telco customer sold to the shop without opening up the sealed box to check the set. (Telco set) or a seal broken set, meaning that customer have opened up the to check their telco set before selling it to the shops.

2. Agent set which is directly from Samsung. It's a sealed box set.

You should request for sealed box set be it telco or Samsung set. If the shop doesn't has it, then don't buy from them.

Make sure you check the box is indeed sealed (1 seal on on both sides of the box) before allowing the shop seller to cut the seal.

There were instances that the seller try to con the buyer by showing him the sealed side of the box whereby the other seal on the other side of the box had actually been broken.

It is always better to get the agent set.

To summarize it.

Buy a sealed agent set is the best purchase if you don't sign up a plan with telco.

Hi kelvinti,

Thanks for the explanation. Nowadays I discovered some retail shops would use their own seal (don't know where they got it from probably from other phone set they had sold) and paste over the original broken sealed after opening the box and claimed that its a sealed set, pathetic indeed.

Don't know which retail shop has honest dealing with customers dealing with new or used phone. Sometime really sick of visiting those phone shop.

Thanks bro.

No problem, bro!

There are few retail shops that are really trust worthy that I frequent with honest and humble service. Not arrogant.

It is not nice diplomatically for me to mention here publicly as I don't want to be seen as a "promoter" for them.

I can PM you those few shops if you want it.

Cheers!

In sg, there is only one model, that is the 32GB only.

Me, East side. No idea about the west.

got my white Note 3 from M1 on the 21th and noticed that it had a weak data signal, sometimes no data at all and i have to reboot my phone. brought it down to service centre on sunday and the firmware was upgraded, and i was told to monitor as it is either a sim card or software issue.

lucky i insisted on sending it in for diagnostic since i have no time to monitor the issue (going back to Korea but phone only has local warranty). picked it up today and was told the reason was a faulty antaenna which has been replaced! on a new phone somemore, think their QC really terrible.

Can u all advise me whether i should bring my note 3 to samsung service centre. Note 3 always prompt note 3 unstable when wifi is weak. My wifi will discount if i access TVº¸´Ù ´õ Å« ¼¼»ó, iMBC.

I suggest that you go to your friend's house or your neighbor's house and connect to thier WiFi to see if it is your house's WiFi modem/router problem or Note 3 problem before heading down to Service Centre!:)
