hi swgj86,

I posted this earlier - thanks

i'm a iphone user for years and currently looking for better alternatives like note 3.0.

on a daily basis i'm doing this and wonder if this can be done with a note 3.0 instead ?

1. read market news and save into pdf format
2. save pdf copies to thumbdrive / memory cards
3. if can scribble on the pdf copy eg circling / drawing a line is bonus
4. print the pdf into hardcopy in office/home

this would be my impt need, would some kindly and patiently pls advise.

all the above can be done from Note 1 to note 3.

but need to clarify, what source is your market news?
you mean from the browser and websites?

1. if yes, then yes. there's apps you can save the webpage as pdf and then you can scribble with s-pen and save as pdf too.

if its an app, either the app can export the data as pdf or you can take screenshots and scribble from there.

2. saving to external storage. firstly the pdf you save will be in the microsd card in the phone. then you can plug a thumbdrive to your phone via an otg cable/adapter. another way is to connect usb cable to your pc, it will detect as an external drive and you can open up to transfer files.

3. with spen you can do all of what you mentioned.

4. printing depends. some printer can read external usb drives, then you might be able to plug in note 3 and print. another way is cloud printing. another way is both printer and phone are same manufacturer and printer comes with wireless printing. if the above fails, you can always transfer/email the file to a pc with connection to printer to print.

Major let down. Samsung either did not pass down the info to all their experience stores, or the staff simply didn't give a sh*t despite being told.

It was posted on Samsung FB page that those who pre-ordered and paid $50 at Samsung experience stores can go collect on 27 Oct and for others it will be from 28 Oct onwards.

I was at Nex yesterday so just dropped by the Samsung store there to confirm and was shocked when the staff there said it was on 28 Oct for everyone including those who paid the deposit.

I asked her where is the sense in that and also told her Samsung FB page said those who paid deposit can collect on 27 Oct. She then said the store will call us if we can collect on 27 Oct. I was like WTF?

Since Samsung FB page already said can collect means can collect. What do you mean wait for the store to call us to say whether can collect?

Other cases of information screw up include the colour. Some were told can't choose colours. Some were apparently given a printed slip with colour indicated. At Nex, the lady just scribbed down "preferred colour" in pen on the list of pre-order customers.

Poor show! After releasing so many phones can still have such major screw ups!

Precisely! If they do not want to allow consumers to choose color, I'm fine with it but at least let it be equalize across the board! But that's not their style, some shops allow color to be chosen some doesn't, it is so not professional and given the reputation that samsung has, i think it should be way better.

Or maybe they just assume lots of ppl are going to rush for the phone which explains in this kind of unprofessional service that customers are receiving.

believed the official launch is on 28th Sep. 27th is for pre-orders.

Yupp that is what Samsung posted on their facebook page but the information conveyed from CSO to consumer seems to differ from it. What a disappointment~ since PO day the information disseminated from CSO to consumers have been different from all different shops and up till now, just 6 days more away from launch they still can't get their information right. Maybe they need to wake up their idea? :)

hi otaku7,

thanks so much for yr replies.
the web pages are normally the ones, eg bloomberg, yahoo finance etc. they have a print feature normally to send to printer, but just that i would want to save to pdf to the memory card.

the printer will be a office printer, a network printer eg HP / Xerox

:)

Radio streaming does utilize data (and battery too compared to FM radio) at a very fast pace. Have you tried streaming before?

Having said that, the lack of a FM radio isn't strong enough a factor for me to sway off Samsung phones.... Just got to live with it. Lol
Yup. I do stream radio through Tunein Radio, but radio feature is just a bonus to me. You can get the best of both world, right?

Lol FM radio is never important to me.. I still prefer my tune in radio or spotify... Less talk, more music...

Actually, if there is no radio, I could also live with it since I already using iphone now and I have a dedicated mp3 player with FM radio. So it doesn't affect me a lot.

But certainly, if there is a built in one, it's a bonus feature lor.

I just molested the phone at Samsung jurong point. Currently a Note 2 user.
I must say the Note 3 is crisp clear, light and good to hold on compared to Note 2. The Android OS features needless to say.
Can't wait to get my new phone next week.
Btw, the black phone has the same texture and grayish colour finish as the Note 2. For white, the finish is like small honeycomb patterns..

hello guys. am I being whiny or what. i registered my interest with SH on note 3 but they replied me in a email saying my registration was unsuccessful because there was no line under my name. I transferred my line to my dad name a few days later registration of interest just to be eligible to upgrade my line under hub member for this. it should be due to this reason but this make absolutely no sense when they should just be checking whether this number is eligible for upgrade and not whether whose account its under which i had no idea about too. actually the big fuss about this is the free accessory pack given which costs like 1/3 of the price when contracted. i feel so angsy
