I have decided not to update to Jelly Bean for now. Pretty happy with ICS. Plus certain apps may have problems with Jelly Bean, and also need to reset... plus all my data... don't use titanium backup, blah blah blah.... lazy... etc., So, question is, how do you turn the damn notification off?

I got the update notice on my phone on the 25th or 26th. So guys, just imagine, I have been tapping the bugger and postponing the update 3 hours later, 3 hours later, 3 hours later... for the past week.

Also, did it download the update pack onto my phone? Or only when I select "install" then it downloads the 500+mb files?

Wah progene, I remember you in the i8910HD threads... I'm still using it! That phone die die must use custom rom... I had the set changed twice! 1st time, dead pixels a week after and they gave me a new phone. Then a year later, I jumped into a swimming pool with it and they gave me a new phone after that as well! No questions asked man... How is that for Samsung warranty (Disclaimer: I don't work for Samsung)

Hi Guy, I have redo my guide based on SG Jellybean version (now 7th edition). Get some feedback from forumers here. So edit abit. Now no longer Triangle, and you can chose between Speedmod or PhilZ Kernel.

Hope this will help newbie in rooting and obtaining SG jellybean. Of course, XDA would be the best preferred choice.

hey guys,

just want to know how you guys are faring in terms of battery life on the new stock JB ROM.

i'm getting only max 4h screen-time (web surfing, no 3d games) before it drains to <10% on Philz. Speedmod is only slightly better.

is that supposed to be normal?

also, any mods to recommend for fast charge (speedmod claims its faster, but my battery monitor shows roughly the same values), reduced shutter lag for the camera & long-press-to-kill-app function (had it when i was using custom ROM on ICS)?

thanks!

I'm using the org Samsung battery. noticed the battery usages r prolong (5 to 7 hrs) and charging time are slightly faster (~2 hrs from 20% to 99%) with the current k5-3 kernel. my battery age about 5 months old.

Anyone can help? Thanks alot
If you can enter Settings, then clear cache for Touchwiz under 'Applications Manager'

Otherwise you will need to factory reset the phone via the stock Android recovery. Check the key combination but it should be something like "hold Power + Volume Up".

Would try for these suggested but hopefully not factory reset.

Wonder if reinstall touch wiz will do ?

Actually all you need to do is clear the cache of Touchwiz. But since you sound like you do not have any other alternative launcher installed, you are pretty much stuck.

However, try entering the stock Android recovery & choose the 'Clear Cache' option first. NOT the 'format/data reset' option.

Battery life is in fact better than my previous state (custom Rom running on leak jb). Now I am running on stock, speedmod. Did you factory reset? how you updated to jb? via ota or kies?

Yes agreed on this.. battery age matters too...like me, I'm now using my 2nd note battery. Got my note in Nov 2011..if u facing battery problems and you've been using note for quite some time now, guess it's time to consider to buy a new battery or buy new phone or just live with it.

I'm unable to set the s planner notification by sending to my Gmail address previously while in ICS, can't seem to set it now in JB. any idea?

Not sure if JB doesn't have this feature compare to ICS. In ICS, you can set your reminder notification through your gmail..
