Really don't understand Samsung SG, just to repaste backplate they had to reset my phone? What kind of stupid policy is this. What's the point of having maintenance mode if they aren't gonna use it.
My friend had his Note 10 battery changed at the official Samsung Service Center at GangNam Seoul and they didn't even have to reset his phone. Somemore it was out of warranty.

Not only is their hardware getting worst with all kinda issue for flagship devices, they have to screw customers further with such a dumb policy.

Probably to protect themselves from claims, eg. if customer later come back and says their data is lost or compromised.

Isn't that the whole point of having and being able to put the phone in Maintenance mode when sending it for repairs? For them to do repairs etc while still keeping the data intact and not compromised? I understand if the repair is to replace a faulty board as the storage maybe embedded to the motherboard itself but this is to REPASTE the glue on the Backplate.

Again why isn't there consistency in standards in their company if their service center from their parent country can replace battery without having to reset the phone while ours had to do so before they accept any kind of repairs. For such a big company with decades of experience in manufacturing different products to have no standards, it is kinda appaling.

From the lesson I learnt here is... Don't bother getting their Care+... And spend the money elsewhere to get the phone repaired than the local official repair centers. Or stop getting Samsung in the future otherwise you'll get screwed everytime you have to send it in for repairs no matter how minor it is.

That is one of the reason I did not replace my battery 2 months ago when my Care+ ended. I have too much data and information inside and it's very troublesome to re-install and sign in everything again (Bank, Singpass and every other apps). The policy makes no sense, if my phone is alright and I just need to change the battery, why do I need to reset. People might as well go to litemobile or mistermobile to replace the battery.

That is another reason I did not get care+ when I get my Tab S10Fe

yeah and the whole Maintenance mode thing...its advertised everywhere on all the different country websites that you set it to that mode before sending it for repairs so that the safety of your data is intact.

https://www.samsung.com/sg/support/service-centre/

https://www.samsung.com/sg/support/maintenance-mode/

If not wrong, this feature has been around since 2023....so they have 2 years to fix it to ensure it works as it should and that every Repair center accepts repairs when the phone is sent in with Maintenance mode enabled. For Samsung's very own service center refusing to accept the phone for repair even when the phone is in the mode they recommend to be set it and insist that it will be reset to factory instead upon returning just kinda boggles your mind.

It's false advertising period and just shows how they are more concern to protect themselves than their customers.

They come out with a system to protect customer, then they themselves don't trust the system to protect the customers and themself and then come out with another system that only serves to protect their own interest and disregarding the customers interest even though the very feature that got customers interested in their device is the original system that they had that sets them apart from their competition.

If Samsung don't have trust in their own products and software, then how does the customer feel? Knowing how much hardware issues Samsung customers face with their devices, this feels like a marketing scam.
"Don't worry your data is protected even when you have hardware issues and have to send it for repair." "Sorry we have to factory reset your devices before we can do any repair. It's our policy."

yeah I sent them a feedback via the SMS link they give after a visit to their service center. No point asking the staff, they just following orders and instructions from someone higher up. But seeing how they solve issues regarding the green line with no standard sop, I doubt they will bother.

I can consider myself lucky this is the only time I faced a "cosmetic hardware" issue throughout my years of using Samsung phones and having to go to their service center, but it will make me think twice in getting anymore products from them. Once bitten twice shy.

Anyone find their battery dropping faster during standby after ui 7 update? In the past, usually drop 3 to 5% overnight, now it's 10% or more. Clear cache after update as usual, any other solution?

Try the following:

1. Go to settings, apps. Show system app. Uninstall android system safetycore.

2. Disable gallery stories app. Then look for cmhprovider, deny permission for photos.

Mine overnight drop 5%, but drops pretty fast when in use. Also the animations not smooth.

The Samsung service centres are the distro iirc, not Samsung themselves. So it's 3rd party repairs.

It's not the same relationship as Apple and the Apple Store/Genius Bars where they are all Apple employees. I think Apple, Huawei and maybe Xiaomi might be the only brands who actually run their own service centres locally (as in employees of the company themselves) - and we need to find which are those specific branches, and which others are 3rd party outsourced contractors by distributors.
