It's nice that it's charging quickly but I'm a little concern over the temperature. It's about as warm or warmer than a Switch after gaming for a good 2~3 hours (not the heat at the exhaust vent, just touching the back cover). It charge really quick though, from 20~85% is under an hour!

Yes, I am using a USB-C power meter. The weird part is that is charging constantly just under 40W (about 37~39W). I can start charging from under 20%, under 50% or above 60% but it will still charge at the rate of a little under 40W. Why I said it's weird is because from what I found on the internet, if the charger and cable couldn't hit the 45W (10V@4.5A) requirement then it will default to the next level of 30W (or 20W, I can't really remember). I know the power meter will grab some juice, but up to 5W difference? That's quite a bit. Currently waiting for a second power meter to arrive so I can cross reference the results.

Any chance I can trouble any of you who can do 45W charging and have a power meter can help to test and share your finding please? Thanks! :3
I'm using the Baseus cable with the wattage reading and I can confirm with you the rate is quite similar to yours. I noticed it was 41W for a long time until 80% when it dropped to 30 then at 90 it stayed at about 18-19W until full. I did not notice the device getting too warm to touch maybe because I had the keyboard cover on.

I doubt the reader will draw up to 5W and I think the figures you obtained is fairly accurate. I would assume the differences between our readings would be the ambient temperature and the equipment.

From my understanding, as the battery capacity is much larger than phones, they can "absorb" charge at faster rates for longer than say a 5000maH battery.

Also with PPS, the charging profile isn't 10V 4.5A. It is a dynamic range between 3.3-11V up to 4.05A so technically 45W isn't accurate (max 44.55W). I never seen the cable read close to 45W before. Max I got was 41W.

Adding on, there are some reports of the keyboard cover cracking the screen of their tablets. Shouldn't be an issue if you have a screen protector on, but it's something worth noting imo
How though? maybe it misaligned and the snap impact caused the crack? I think it aligns itself quite well with the keyboard cover in my experience and I pull it off rather frequently.

Mine stays constant at sub 40W even at 80% tho.. I got the book cover on. I read this article in the past, seems to make sense logically. The charger I'm using have a profile of PPS 3.3-21V@5A and the cable is 20V@5A so it should be able to hit the 10V@4.5A. I charged my phone and it does slow down over time using the same charger and cable (not PPS profile tho), so I think it's probably the tablet?

Based on the reviews/threads I read, the speculation appears to be the nib around the corners of the screen. Didn't pay much attention to it since I already am waiting for the Mokibo keyboard way long ago and planning to rock the book cover. I thought it's something worth bringing up for those who are using the keyboard cover without screen protector tho. Better be safe than sorry

Supposedly it's the plastic feet/nib that prevent the screen from touching the keys. And probably bad luck I suppose.. The Victus should be stronger than the S7+ screen tho

Oh wow that's a lot of cracks 😰 I don't use a screen protector, then again I'm using spigen's rugged Armour pro mostly and I'm fine with using on screen keyboard so keeping fingers crossed that nothing happens

I think the only time I've ever had a cracked screen was an iPad 3 that my cat stepped on 😿

Wah I gotta be careful closing it now. I wonder maybe a small modification with some thin foam and the nibs to further cushion it will help

The cracked screens got me looking at my work allocated microsoft surface pro 7+ with keyboard cover which ive used for about 1 year now, and that keyboard didn't have nibs. Constantly on the move, no screen protector and not a single scratch. Wonder why did samsung design the keyboard book cover with nibs only to cause so much trouble, its definitely a design flaw.

Yeah, if damaged try getting them to fix for freem I doubt it will happen. I am particularly worried because I need the keyboard for work and my bags are quite tightly packed.

Hi, I recently got the S8+ as an upgrade from my MiPad4 Plus (I still love it, but i've wanted a larger more powerful tablet for awhile now). Ordered 3rd March, received next day. Like some people here, the shopee courier simply left it outside my door without even knocking my door.

Would like to ask if it is normal for the tablet battery to last about 2 days? It feels like the battery drains very quickly (and I'm not talking about using it for gaming). Just general use (mainly youtube, Netflix, some browsing).
As it is, that's about the same current battery life of my MiPad4 Plus.

Charging using my wife's USB-C Samsung Charger is very quick though, about an hour from 10% to 100%.

I felt that given the huge battery capacity, the battery could last longer between charges.

Any advice on great apps and settings to go with this larger screen tablet?

Also, looking to get my own 45w charger since Samsung cheaped out on providing one.
What do you guys think of this one? https://shopee.sg/Samsung-45W-25W-S...ype-C-to-Type-C-Cable-i.453430383.12645263927

There wasn't much of a difference in charge duration between 25w and 45w for the phone line, not sure if there's gonna be a difference for the tabs.

Is there a purpose for the nibs? If not was thinking if it can be sanded off

I think its to prevent the keys from hitting the screen.

BTW a bit of a rant here, sent my Tab s8+ and the keyboard cover for servicing at Vivo SES.

While talking to the staff, one of her colleagues straight up interrupted our conversation and asked her what she wanted for lunch. I mean, mid conversation in the midst of me explaining. TWICE. I was close to giving him my 2 cents.

My experiences with SES staff really is far from desired. Bugis and Vivo so far. I have the impression now they are just Ah Bengs dressed in Samsung uniform. Really no manners eh. Says a lot of how they view their customers.

Anyway, the lady who attended to me was courteous. Just that ill-mannered bloke. Pfft. She tried the keyboard cover on their display sets and there was no input lag, so it is possible I got a lemon. :(

So much for preventing the keys from hitting the screen...they crack the screens instead. Pfft.

If only they had apple's standard of service sigh

Battery does drain pretty fast on mine too. Not sure if it's the chip or the screen, but it really drain the juice like crazy.

Price seems a bit too cheap for a genuine 45W Samsung charger tho

Can try the Somerset outlet if you need to go again. Did my trade in there. Staff are pretty friendly and welcoming. Also, did they swap a tablet for you or offer to take in for fixing?

In the end they did a software reset and the keyboard worked. The lady who attended to me was really nice. Not so for her colleague.

I suspect since I copied the data from my existing ipad it might have screwed up the OS a bit and hence introduced the input lag. Now copying from my phone now and see how it goes.

Anyone knows how to get videos out of my ipad and into the Tablet without having to pay for software?

if you're looking for 45w charger, do not get the Anker single port charger. It worked for my note 10, but not for my Tab S8+
