Hi all, not sure if this was raised before. How do you connect spotify to the watch? Has been facing problem doing it.
Thank you
hi,
can i know if the Samsung Galaxy watch can use the Samsung Pay without having Samsung Phone? or having Samsung Pay on Samsung phone.
As i am not using Samsung Phone myself.
Bought from taobao.Where do you all get the protection for watch body? Any shops?
Btw, Happy CNY people! Heng, Ong, Huat arh!
samsung pay on galaxy watch is a stand alone feature. you can use samsung pay without samsung phone if the app supports the android phone you are using.
certain low end android model may not support.

just like what renfred said....some low end model might not support...was using lg v30 and i have no issue using samsung pay with my gear s3..thanks for the reply
referring to 16:12 of the youtube video below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D95WWOo2a3c
seem like cant use Samsung pay.
Still a bit skeptical that "samsung pay" can be used with "non Samsung Smart Phone"
and this video, 9:39
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8i2AAc4BHI
seem to touch on the Samsung Pay.. but didnt go in depth.

Probably the youtube video a bit misleading and didnt elaborate more on the Samsung Pay usage on other smart phone..
Thanks for ur input![]()
I don't think the videos are misleading, its just not in the right context you expected to be.
Since inception of the first generation samsung galaxy smart watch, it has never been fully compatible with iOS devices. Appel made it this way so as to maintain relevance of apple watch.
Whereas for android devices, so long your android device has minimum RAM and storage requirements, the app should work with the phone. In terms of Samsung Pay, android system must possess basic security framework for it to work.
All in all, don't use use galaxy watch if you don't have a samsung phone, because some functionalities are hidden and you won't realise the full potential anyway.

using pixel 3 with Samsung watch no issue leh everything also can use . Samsung pay , text can reply , WhatsApp telegram all also no issue

Actually I am using the Gear Sport with my HTC and the only cons for me is that text messages can't reply from watch. Almost everything else works including Samsung Pay for me which is setup on my watch through the Galaxy Wearable app.
ya, do understand that.. but Samsung smart phone never really attract me to get oneI don't think the videos are misleading, its just not in the right context you expected to be.

Thanks.. that's what i need to know..
getting msg notification to the watch is not really necessary to me.. can be counter productive, distracting..
This can be done from the phone itself..
Mainly want to understand the Samsung Pay only
Thanks again.

That's why want to understand from other people on how is the experience if paired with non Samsung Smart phones.
Anyone have notification issues? I don't get any vibration from whatsapp and neither does it show on my watch screen unless I swipe right to check.
Seems like a common issue but I can't seem to find a fix yet
