Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5's storage options leak

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S23 series earlier this month, which consists of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The vanilla and Ultra models have three storage options, while the Plus version only has two. And a report by SamMobile claims the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5's storage options will be the same as the S23 and S23 Ultra's, respectively.

The publication claims that the Galaxy Z Fold5 will have 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants, whereas the Galaxy Z Flip5 will come with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB options, with the 128GB model using a UFS 3.1 chip instead of UFS 4.0. This is hardly surprising since last year's Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 had the same storage options.

The official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 is still months away, but we've already heard a few things about both foldable smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold5 is said to come with a new hinge design to hide the display crease but won't have an S Pen slot, while the Galaxy Z Flip5 is rumored to feature a cover display bigger than the Oppo Find N2 Flip's 3.26" external screen.

More details about Samsung's 2023 foldables will likely surface in the coming weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's cover display tipped to be larger than Oppo Find N2 Flip's

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 unveiled last August came with a 1.9" cover display, and Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), claimed the Galaxy Z Flip5 will pack a cover screen larger than 3". While Ross didn't provide a specific number for the panel's diagonal, reliable tipster Ice universe has corroborated Young's claim, saying the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's external display will be larger than Oppo Find N2 Flip's, which measures 3.26" diagonally.

Young had also claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 will have a different hinge design to "reduce the visibility of the seam," but how much that will help in reducing the feeling of the crease remains to be seen.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 to have much larger cover display, invisible crease

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip5, which isn't due to launch for a few months, might rectify two of the main issues people still have with its predecessor, the Z Flip4. At least if today's rumor on the matter pans out. In the rumor's corner is the fact that it comes from Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young, who has been accurate about such things in the past. In the other corner is the fact that on occasion he does get the odd thing wrong, so keep that in mind.

Anyway, here's hoping that the Galaxy Z Flip5 will indeed, as Young claims, come with a much larger cover display. This will apparently be around 3.3" to 3.4", which is an order of magnitude more than the 1.9" screen we're currently getting on the Flip4.

Now that S23 series is released. Time to discuss about upcoming flagship Z Flip 5. I do hope the cover screen can be bigger like the Oppo Find N2 Flip. Bigger battery and faster charging, a better camera like S23.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 camera specs surface

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will offer the same 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto cameras as the Galaxy Z Fold4. The Z Flip5 will also retain the dual 12MP camera with wide and ultrawide lenses. 😪 That's the not particularly promising part.

The good news is the phones will reportedly come with new camera sensors, which should result in better image quality. It's unclear if all sensors will be upgraded or just some of them, but we have little doubt we'll learn more in the months leading up to the announcement.

The report further mentions improved hinge design, bigger outer displays and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset.
