TL;DR
  • Samsung is making some design changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
  • A leak claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is shorter and lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
  • The leak runs contrary to previous reports about the handset’s size and weight.

Seriously, 0.2mm also not a big difference. Samsung need to up the game leh. The pixel fold will thrash it out of the Galaxy, not even comparable to the China made foldable.

Disappointed with Samsung as they seem to hold back to improve Fold 5 from Fold 4 where the camera remain as 50 megapixel instead the same as S23 ultra and no placeholder to stylus pen

----------------

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is unlikely to deviate much from the Galaxy Z Fold4 in terms of dimensions according to tipster @UniverseIce.

The tipster shared the purported dimensions of the upcoming device; the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is said to measure 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1mm and weighs 354g. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold4 measures 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3mm and weighs 263g. @UniverseIce describes the appearance and size of the Galaxy Z Fold5 as "the generation with the smallest change in Samsung Folds".

@UniverseIce added that the cover display will remain at 6.2-inches, and the big design change is the waterdrop hinge mechanism that will make the screen crease less visible. Naver reported on the new hinge mechanism in January and claims it wil enable the folding screen to form a droplet shape inside the hinge.

Samsung is rumoured to be launching the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 in late July.

If their Fold 5 sales dropped, hope they will learn a lesson and stop thinking their fold phone is dominating the entire world.

Samsung can do it but don't want to. Improve the aspect ratio (wider) and give it cameras similar to S23 Ultra and their sales are you going to dramatically improve.

But no, Fold 5 will just have improve battery life due to 8 Gen 2, slightly better cameras and new thinner hinge design.

Really the worst upgrade ever. Samsung better wake up their idea. Slight improvement and dare to call fold 5.

Been using Galaxy FOLD 1, 2, 3 & 4; sick of the tiny slim outer screen already.
I can't wait to see next week's Google Pixel FOLD launch. Likely to switch over while waiting for FOLD 6 next year.

I like what you say, but seems like Google is not releasing it in SG. I don't appreciate US ROM.

From the look of it can save money, wait for next generation Fold 6 .. this year Samsung getting very lazy for not doing it job well. As a consumer no one want to spend on a expensive fold phone with just little bit touches...😠 Which is almost like 🍎 products.

The crease doesnt bother me though, i'd much rather crease with water resistance then lesser crease with no water resistance. And i've tried some of the Chinese phones that IceUniverse is alluding to, the software experience is nowhere near polished enough.

But gotta admit Samsung got abit lazy this year, but a thinner phone is much appreciated for me.
