You sure its the phone not the router and/or singtel fibre issue? What's the speed of other devices connected to the same fibre/router setup (via wifi)?

A few of us are experiencing it, rooted and unrooted. I even did a handset exchange with the same results. I am on 300mbps Singnet Fibre, Asus AC68U. Try with other servers on the speedtest app, you can get up to 60ish Mbps at times.

Lastly, after fiddling for a week, I gave up and decided not to be fixated with numbers, we are not using the phone for heavy downloading of huge files hence as long as I am not experiencing major slowdown of the phone while surfing or downloading apps I will just enjoy other features of the phone. Will just wait for a firmware update hopefully addressing this.

There is a thread discussing this on XDA here

Are you using rt-n66u? Did you connect to 5ghz wifi? Mine I got 140mbps for download and 130mbps for upload.

I'm on viewqwest
Router its rt-n66u.

Might be router settings or 2.4/5 ghz connection.

Note 4 is not on download speed boost.

Nope. I even took a video comparing with a note 3. Using same server and ghz.

I suspected it could be singtel. But it doesn't explain why my other device like samsung tab s and note 3 are performing well

Speed on note 3 for download around 20 to 30mbps
About 50 for tab s

Here is my WiFi speed at home.

Screenshot_2014-12-03-12-17-08_zpsa2785672.png

Phone = Note 4
Phone Firmware = NK3

Server for SpeedTest = NewMedia Express
Distance from Router = 2m

Router = Asus RT-AC87U
Frequency = 5Ghz
Channel Bandwidth = 80Mhz (WiFi-AC)
Control Channel = 149
Router Firmware = 376.47

ISP = MyRepublic
Plan = 1Gpbs

Perhaps you all want to try changing the router setting and see does it helps.

I'm on singtel 100Mbps FBB.....
2.4Ghz - 10 to 30 Download(Mbps)
5Ghz - Bet 50 to 90 Download(Mbps)

Whether I use 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz......using internet....same performance, ie, no lag mostly.
There are many variables why speeds varies, from the phone itself to the environment, router, ISP, etc.

U can only truly verify ur phone actual performance in a controlled environment. Don't get too obsessed with nbrs...unless u've the time and knowledge to troubleshoot. Samsung will not do anything if ur wireless is working; afterall, their set up vs ur home set up will be different base on the variables I've mentioned.
