Unfortunately, S7 Edge won't receive 9.0 Pie. This is the last major update for it. That's why it is so critical for it to be rolled out asap.

Can you kindly tell me where you got the information from that s7e doesn't get android pie ?

Even last year for nougat also took very very long. Too many excuses. I paid for a flagship phone but not getting flagship user experience. Ofc this is the last major update for s7e and obviously they didn't do a good job either

The phone is only suitable for slow people who don't care about phone updates at all. Good for laggards who like to be stuck with old softwares. People already using pie...

I have updated the phone to Oreo 2 nights ago (just press to update only.. without thinking..) & currently, i only face problems with instagram. Unable to unload any instastory at all. it will just hang at "posting". Have even tried putting airplane mode to force it to stop "posting" but not able to. went online to check on this and seems like there are quite abit of people facing the same issue since few months back, and no solution yet (other than reversing the system update). SIGH. any geniuses here knows how to reverse the system update? =(

Generally, it is advised not to reverse the updates cause it is technical, risking a chance of making further damage to the software and you WILL lose your data since it was a major update.

When uploading an Instastory do try to keep the app in the foreground and not the background. There is a chance Oreo's battery saving is preventing your apps and other background apps from using data in the background.

You can try reinstalling Instagram for a start see if that resolves the issue.

Noted on the reversal part!

How to i check if its running on foreground or background?

I have uninstalled & reinstalled Instagram, still having the same issue. connection with data & wifi is also strong.

based on what i see online, many have the same issues..

Foreground usually means the app is opened and on screen.
Background is when it is not visible means you have something else opened.

Are your time and date set properly? Settings->General Management-> Date and time -> Automatic should be enabled

Thank you so much for the tips and will be careful on that. What are the other things to be aware of?

It's just a security update, it won't cause any battery issues not already found on the original 8.0 update.
