for something ediblePoints expiring but nothing nice to redeem
Yesterday added UOB Visa for my Note10+ and just now used it for the first time for MRT, but no points added to Samsung Pay rewards.
Am I missing out anything?
Oh. Cos I think usually normal transactions you have to insert the card first before keying in the value? Not sure haha. And where do I place the phone?
no.. credit and debit no difference.. the difference is when you use visa or mastercardCredit card or debit card? Debit is tmr, credit need to wait, it's consolidated, don't remember how much/how many days
If using as transit card, does it mean that the NFC will always always on?If you're using Samsung Pay for transit as well, don't need wake the device. Can just tap your phone with the screen still off, and it'll detect. You can't do that with Google Pay. That's possibly the only difference. The points thing really add up if you're using a VISA card for transit since you get a lot of points (which is why I applied and am waiting for my DBS visa debit card, even though I already have a POSB Mastercard debit card for transit).
visa will charge daily. whatever you use today will be charged to you in the morning of the next day.
the exact logic for MasterCard's settlement mode is based on accumulation of,
- up to 5 days,
- accumulation of $15,
- accumulation of 21 transactions,
whichever happens first will trigger the settlement of the accumulated fares..
for the 21 transactions, it is counted based on per tap basis. i.e. tapping upon boarding and then tapping on exit = 2 transactions.

call the banks and ask.. they have this info where it's not shown on simply go website.. same as the previous MasterCard issue where your cards gets permanently blocked if you perform 1024 contactless transactions without any chip transactions inbetween.I don't see the 21 transactions condition from the SimplyGo website for Mastercard

No need NFC to be switched on 24/7
Will auto switch on when you place your phone at the reader but may have lag time
Anyway, NFC will use up very negligible battery power. I keep it switched on 24/7
I don't think it'll auto on. Unless you are using the authenticate version. Anyone tried with NFC off?
No. Just tap don't need to even on phone screen.
Huh? So with NFC on. I dont even need to switch on samsung pay? Just tap and go? Serious?
But NFC has to be on right?
