After reading some previous posts... Either I didn't see it or it wasn't mention. But what happens if I get an NFC SIM Card and already using Samsung Pay? Will I need to choose in the settings which is the default app (payment)?
I'm also using the NFC SIM for MRT rides. Based on the default settings on my phone, it does not affect Samsung Pay.

Go through the MRT gantry, tap your phone (which need not even be on). Go to a store, swipe up to see your cards and pay via Samsung Pay. Works like a charm, no toggling of settings or app needed.

Anybody manage to get both samsung pay and Android pay working? I had samsung pay and it was working fine. Then android pay came along and I installed it. How do I activate android pay? Tried just waking up phone and tap the terminal but keep showing "terminated"

Yes it's supposed to be supported at all PayWave terminals.

Interestingly however, Xing Wang HK cafe (which has a PayWave terminal) specifically said that they do not accept Samsung Pay. If I understood the cashier correctly, they have not implemented something at the back end which prevents them from processing payments even though the transaction would go through at the PayWave terminal in the cafe. The cashier sounded as if she had been briefed, not one of those blur ones.

First time I'm hearing this. Wonder whether their Finance Department is being lazy and 'smoking' them, or whether it really is true...

so technically, either samsung pay or android pay can exist in a phone for default automaticity.

if one wants android pay and samsung pay, then the automatic portion of the payment mode will not be suitable..

Thats why i have removed android pay totally..

For me I just set Android Pay as default then "use open app instead of the default" as Samsung Pay. This way can tap and pay without launching any app, and when want use MST can just swipe up.

On first day i try setting Samsung Pay as default, and then "use open app instead of the default" as Android Pay. Android Pay didn't work even when I opened the app and then tap on the reader. Switch the default, and worked. :s22:

yeah, android pay has no interface at app's level anyway, thats why it has to be the default and samsung pay be on app level.

why would one wants android pay and samsung pay together huh? haha for promos is it? :D

Uob only lifted the limit for apple pay, I don't think it applies to physical card and other r platform I think..

Android Pay supports Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards issued by five major banks here - POSB, DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, United Overseas Bank (UOB) and Standard Chartered Bank - which represent more than 80 per cent of the Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards issued in Singapore.

Unlike Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, no fingerprint or PIN authentication is required for each Android Pay transaction. You do not even need to unlock the phone. However, after every third consecutive transaction, Android Pay will ask you for the phone's pass code, pattern, PIN or fingerprint for security purposes.

The $100 limit for each contactless transaction still applies though, except for UOB credit or debit cards. A UOB spokesman said the bank is in the process of removing the $100 limit for all its 10,000 NFC payment terminals by the end of 2017. Currently, 2,000 of UOB's NFC payment terminals have the $100 cap removed

Haha. I prefer Android Pay since it's more universal, and not limited to just Samsung android phones. Then for Samsung pay MST is just there just in case the shop has no NFC terminal. :s13: But eventually I might just use Android Pay and remove Samsung Pay. For me most of the time just using mobile payment for the small stuffs. Groceries, food, drinks, etc. So NFC is reliable enough already.

In my view at least, if we are fortunate to be using the latest Samsung phones that support Samsung Pay, it's irrelevant whether Android Pay is more "universal".

What would be relevant is if Android Pay supports gift/loyalty cards and Samsung Pay does not. For me, that would be the only reason to use Android Pay (UOB is not my main credit card).

if nfc is off android pay won't work. end of the day u still have to select one platform to pay provided the necessary requirements are met I.e android pay with nfc on; Samsung pay activated via finger print
