What do you guys usually use your points to exchange for? I see the current vouchers not extremely appealing

Some times got good deal which requires like 3000points.. so its good to save up first..

Ytd went to make payment via samsung pay MST for my wedding. 1 terminal works while the other don't and they are exactly the same terminal. The staff handling me looks at me like I'm an idiot during the non-working terminal. Somemore she wants to see my physical card after payment and ask me why the last 4 digits of my card is different from the 4 digits generated by the receipt as their finance needs to check and then she copy down my physical card number.
I need to explain to them that there is a digital card number generated for samsung pay from the official card and she wants to see it. Further explaining required as Samsung pay only shows my physical card and the digital card last 4 digit instead of all 16 to make comparison to my physical card. This is a chain hotel i'm talking about and can't believe the hassle i have to went through to use samsung pay to earn points.

you have no obligation to oblige to the request of the cashier. You should have spoken to the manager and instead of acceding to her demand.

By the law of MAS, no retail personnel has the power to jot down the full 16digits of your physical card, and by the law of MAS, approving the use of virtual cards (eg google/samsung/apple pay), you only need to give them the last 4 digits of the virtual card number if cashier requested.

the role of being an educator does not lie on you and that you have the freedom to share with the ignorant staff.

For this, i suggest you contact the hotel immediately to bring to their attention of such a case and that the staff definitely require further training to safeguard the financial details of their own customers.

If you have doubt in the severity of your issue, i can assure you that the action of jotting down your full credit card details is tantamount to swiping your credit card, which means its also equivalent to violation of MAS law and a police report can be lodged.

With regards to why one works and another don't, it is likely due to the angle of scanning. You need to aim the MST señor at the magnetic sensor of the terminal, failure to do so will cause the terminal to refuse the signal of the phone.

It takes some trial and error if you're the first time user. Have been using MST/NFC samsung pay all along and i cannot recall when was the last time i took out my card..

i wouldn't allow anyone to copy down the card details, its the hotel loss for losing a customer like me anyway, and the onus is on the cashier.

This is what I'm thinking also before. This is very wrong on all levels.

If I were you, I'll go to my bank and have my card changed. It's already compromised, there's no way to tell if she/he will not do anything with your card details.

Not all requires OTP, some merchants or online store just needs your card details.
