Just for your security, do mask your FPAN and DPAN. Although we don't have other details to verify that card. It would be better if you just block it :)

The beauty of tokenization, concerned your dpan is exposed?

Just delete card and add card again, you get a new dpan!

Using DBS Esso card but not sure whether Esso recognizes the card in Samsung Pay and give the entitled instant rebates. Has anyone tried it ?

Was at the movies and saw the ad with the Toast Box uncle promoting Visa PayWave. Only this time, he was using Samsung Pay! And after that, I saw "We accept Samsung Pay" tags on NFC terminals at various food outlets.

Samsung appears to be going all out to promote Samsung Pay. Well done Samsung!

i have used this, but imo this mobile payment thingy is still quite far away from replacing all the cards in your wallet in this time & age.

there's just so many membership/discount cards, ATM, ezlink, ID, condo card etc.

For me, replacing a couple of credit cards in my wallet with mobile phone is not gonna make a difference :s13:

Like all technology, it takes time for the masses to pick up and use. Over time, more people will start to use and eventually, it will become the norm. For now, it may seem like a novelty but this may become mainstream in the near future or if the adoptaion rate is poor, it may just be scrapped (which I doubt so...)

it's a good start I feel.

I now can go out without my wallet if I want to.
use NFC SIM for Ezlink for transport, use Samsung pay for credit card payments, and use apps like Perkd for membership cards (although it doesn't cover all merchants).

Stupid me did not realise until recently that you can actually acess Samsung Pay (swipe up from the bottom) even when the screen is off! There is a setting to allow for that.

Now it's faster and even more convenient to access Samsung Pay on the phone.

when the phone is near the reader, will it auto wake up like apple pay?
or every time must swipe up to open samsung pay?
cuz last time some forumers mentioned samsung pay also can auto wake up like apple pay without the swipe up gesture.

No idea. The official instructions ask that you open Samsung Pay, authenticate with your fingerprint, and then tap the terminal.

Which kinda makes sense because assuming you can use the terminal to activate Samsung Pay, it'll be quite awkward to authenticate with your fingerprint when the phone is testing slanted on the terminal.

was at a food court... last time they had nets flashpay machine then now they change to all-in-one POS terminal (i guess they accept credit cards now).
i dunno if they accept cc or not so i pay with nets flashpay... but when i say i just tap wallet... then the cashier auntie say cannot cannot u must take out the card put on top of screen, then only i can activate it, else i dunno what to do.

if the food outlets cashier aunties all like that, then it's really very difficult to use samsung pay apple pay or go cashless.
taking out the card put on top of contactless reader, then might as well just use cash faster. :s39::s39:

i know a lot of stalls esp at shopping mall basement got contactless reader... but mostly are just for show only. when u say u want to pay by paywave/paypass/flashpay/ezlink then they will give a lot of excuses (eg. machine spoilt) or tell u dunno how to operate. that's the prob with cashless payment in singapore.

i prefer the way china does payment using wechat pay or alipay

q code is printed in receipt

just scan to make payment

foolproof n safe

contactless payment is risky
