are you referring to singtel dash? As long as you are referring for transit payment, you need nfc ezlink sim card regardless of which app you are using. NFC EZlink sim card can work even without any app. The apps are only for top-up purpose, or to view your fare only.

those on pilot test will know that virtual device (wearables including smart watches) will be enabled in the future, hopefully in the near future...

When logged onto the portal for ABT, such virtual device legend can be seen, i guess its in preparation for launch..

but there's still no date for it.
can be after pilot test on 1 Jun 2017? or they support visa physical card 1st... then mobile payment wait long long.

u tried to tap samsung pay at mrt/bus reader?
are u using the registered mastercard for the ABT pilot test?
if ur card is not registered for ABT, confirm won't work.
if registered, then maybe got chance as we dunno when they are going to activate the support for mobile device.

Virtual devices do not work the same way as physical card. The backend arrangement and coding are different. So it will definitely not work as of now..

It doesn't work.. tried it long ago. It will tell you card not supported.

sorry, i have no insider news. I'm just stating the technicality of it.

I am pretty optimistic that it will be enabled for use, when is it exactly i don't really mind as long as it materialise..

maybe i am slow, juz realise that when u add card to samsung pay, it will allocated a 16 digit digital card number to your card. ie the 'credit card' number of ur card in samsung pay.

Hence if we add a CC registered under ABT account, when u scan, Samsung pay will transmit the 16 digit samsung pay number instead of your actual credit card number. Thus its invalid.

It require network verification on both the retailer and the bank's end mostly on the terminal. If you use Samsung pay or any credit or debit card method, most of the time you can see the panel displaying the last 4 digits of the card and verfiying the details of the card if they tally up to an actual account or not.

For MRT, it will be hard cause the idea is to tap and go..ABT ensure you've a proper card registered so they on a 'trust' basis of the software record where you tapped in on the card and tap out. Count the cost and then deduct.

Digital solution needs tap before the tap and go cause it has a verifying period plus the digital number changes as times goes by.

last year in the news they already announced will support mobile payment.
it is a disappointment when they announce the ABT pilot launch only allow physical cards.
if bank's FAQ page did not mention that mobile payment not supported during pilot, i believe many ppl will try tapping phones and watches during the pilot.

Would you rather they spent more time ensuring a stable and secure system and interface or something that is rolled out, suffers from glitches or is insecure and vulnerable to hacks or similar attacks?

ABT is currently in pilot test.
pilot test is supposed to test out all the problems and glitches, not fully working and stable yet.

Pilot test should be stable enough.. There are several phases if testing and I believe pilot test should be towards to end of the cycle.

I have just installed Samsung Pay and Android Pay in two different phones. Subsequently, it added security as you need to key in your password to unlock your phone. The extra benefit is should you lose your phone anywhere the person who found your phone won't be able to switch off the phone.

I'm sure you still can turn off any device with a long long press of power button and volume down key. With or without password.
