Thanks. I'm trying to swipe a $2k transaction at Ronbinsons and I'll be damn if I don't get my 4 miles/$ from Citi.

For Robinsons, you can just use your Citibank Rewards Card as per normal to get 4 miles per dollar. It is a departmental store. Don't need to use Samsung pay.

One thing I noticed today when swiping my card at a clinic is that on the newer credit card machines, even after tapping my phone, the terminal prompts for the 3 digit CVV.

I just gave them the 4 digit virtual number and it seemed to work. (They punched in the first 3 digits then Enter)

I'm supposed to get it, but have not received it yet.

Do report back. Though I do not believe that there is any limits to the transactions, if it fails, you can ask them to try to charge in a few smaller amounts. So far, biggest successful charge I have is like $380+. I should have tried smaller amounts for my failed $2k+ transactions. But as per my previous post, I did encountered the same error at a different merchant, for $40+.

I contacted Samsung Pay on this. They said just input any 3 numbers will do.

hey guys, yday was thinking that security could be an issue on this. you cant lend your phone to others nor lose it else others are going to using your cards or even clone the info.

Every payment needs to be initiated with password unlock or fingerprint unlock. I'm not sure how safe the encryption is for password / fingerprint, but FBI supposedly paid under (about) US$1m to unlock an iPhone 5C. Since password / fingerprint unlock is required for Samsung pay, how well do you think you are protected? Android pay maybe, where you can make up to 3 payments without unlocking, with some banks removing the $100 limit, 3 payments can be tens of thousands.

For the SCB 20% promo,is it based on transaction date or posting date?

transaction date based on https://www.sc.com/global/av/sg-samsung-pay-cashback-tcs.pdf

6. “Qualifying Transactions” during the Promotion Period (based on transaction date) means retail transactions (which excludes those transactions set out at Clause 14 below) charged to an Enrolled Card through Samsung Pay. The Qualifying Transaction amounts (“Spend Amount”) must be charged to the Enrolled Card through Samsung Pay in order to receive the CashBack.

I wonder if hotel payment can be used with the current citibank/samsung pay promotion till year end.

Thinking to use this citibank rewards/samsung pay for all CC purchases from now on and hopefully earn the extra 9x points. Will update if any transaction doesn't earn the extra 9x.

The T&Cs doesn't say the bonus points are awarded in batches so that's good news.
