Samsung is busy this week for its Unpacked event where it will unveil new Galaxy foldables. But Samsung’s next Fan Edition phone and its upcoming tablet lineup have also turned up in a regulatory filing.

A new report from Android Authority reveals the Galaxy S26 FE and Galaxy Tab S12 have appeared in an internal list inside the Google app, one that tracks devices set to offer a free trial of Google’s paid AI subscription.

On the phone side, the Galaxy S26 FE follows Samsung’s 2026 design direction, with a raised camera bump and a flat frame. A Geekbench listing shows the phone’s board labeled s5e9955, which lines up with the Exynos 2500 chip and a 1+2+5+2 core layout. Its display is also shaping up to be a bigger change: reports point to an OLED panel from China’s BOE, marking the first time Samsung has brought in an outside screen maker for an FE model instead of relying on its own display unit.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE passes through the FCC

gsmarena_002.jpg

Interestingly, while the Galaxy S26 FE has an Exynos chipset and modem, it uses a Qualcomm chip for Wi-Fi, unlike the S25 FE which was all-Exynos.

The new phone has support for 45W fast wired charging, just like its predecessor. It also supports wireless charging, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and satellite connectivity. While the FCC certification doesn’t reveal the chipset powering it, this has been rumored to be the Exynos

The S26 FE will adopt Samsung's latest design with an oval-shaped vertical camera island in the top left corner of the rear panel, onto which the three individual cameras are placed. The device may be more expensive than the S25 FE

Samsung's new software strategy is giving Galaxy S FE phones an unusual advantage.

▶️ The Galaxy S26 FE will launch with Android 17 and One UI 9, while the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra started on Android 16 and One UI 8.5.
▶️ Since Samsung promises seven major Android OS upgrades, the S26 FE should ultimately receive one newer Android version than the other Galaxy S26 models.
▶️ The advantage is a little more complicated now that Samsung is also using mid-cycle One UI updates for bigger feature releases, but Galaxy S FE phones will consistently end their life on a newer Android version.

https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/08/20/galaxy-s26-fe-launch-date-confirmed-for-august-27/

Samsung has just announced its next Galaxy Event for August 27. The company says the Galaxy S26 series has set a new benchmark with its biggest imaging and AI upgrades yet, making shooting, creating, and staying connected simpler. A new device is designed for people who mainly care about the core experiences, bringing over key Galaxy S26 features from imaging to AI, along with the latest version of One UI.
