Samsung S8 & S8+ wifi dropping

This is a known issue with some S8 owners. I'm experiencing such issues as well at home where my wifi connection randomly drops every 15mins and auto reconnect back..

Router Model, Region setting and FW version?
What is your WiFi Channel set for?
802.11 Mode?
Security Mode?
Cipher Type?
Does your Router broadcast on 2 different Band?

Smart network switch enabled on your device?
Is the device jumping between your 2 different WiFi Band?

I'm sure it's nothing to do with my router settings or h/w issues because my other devices tapped into the same wifi network are working fine

You would be surprised. Are you connecting on a 5GHz band or 2.4GHz band? I've at least 20 different device on my Network, most of the time some are unable to hold a stable connection cause of channel and band settings.
Some are more capable than the other in different distances and walls.

My S8 tried 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz and both drops connection and auto reconnect instantly. The S8 was placed right beside the router together with other wireless devices, only S8 had this issue..

do you mu-mimo feature turned on for your router? I am connected to linksys velop and i do not have wifi disconnection issue. its still up and running all the time..
