If u buy from local telco they already have ur records.

You are suppose to register online warranty . By right . hence making the receipt useless , seldom service centres need receipt anyways.

He saw samsung = phone liao. Perhaps he thought samsung only make phones nia, and not fridge, tv, washing machine, bluray, ssd, OEM rams, hdd.

I believe if its purchased locally, the distro should be able to track the batch and give a date estimate. You can try, but some distros are insistent over the receipt and may charge you a fee for losing the proof of purchase.
