Samsung Galaxy S23 Green Line

Samsung’s Green and Pink line issue is haunting Galaxy S23 users again. The problem isn’t infamous among Galaxy smartphone users, nor the company that even ran a campaign to replace the screen free of cost.

Over the past few weeks, some owners of the Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra faced the Pink and Green line problems on their devices. The OLED screen has developed a straight vertical line from top to bottom, similar to what we’ve seen in the past.

It left consumers disappointed as their flagship phone’s screen went faulty even without any drop, damage, or water insertion. Samsung’s screen replacement campaign has also ended, leading users to get it repaired at a cost.

Flagship Galaxy phones come with OLED screen technology. It has been reported that an LED or pixel element gets damaged due to overheating or any other cause, leading the panel to develop a thin, straight vertical line itself.

Reaching out to Samsung Support may help the users whose models have been affected. The support executive may assist you for further steps, which may require a visit to a nearby service center to get your handset inspected.

Usually, Samsung accepts the green or pink line issue to replace the screen at no cost. However, it depends on the company’s policies and the evaluation results by the technician at Samsung’s authorized service center.

Green or Pink line was a widespread problem on the Galaxy S20 Plus. Samsung offered free of cost screen and battery kit replacement to consumers in India, however, the program varies by country and predefined eligibility criteria.

The green and pink line problem is not new to Samsung Galaxy phones. It involves a vertical line—typically green or pink—appearing on the OLED screen from top to bottom. This issue has historically affected various models, and now Galaxy S23 users are reporting it again. Many users note that these lines appear without any obvious physical damage, like drops or water exposure, which suggests it might not solely be a user-induced problem.
The exact cause remains unclear, but speculation points to a hardware defect, possibly related to the display connector or flex cable within the OLED panel. Some reports suggest that overheating could damage a pixel or LED element, leading to these lines. A notable pattern is that many S23 users have observed the issue after installing software updates, such as the October 2024 security patch or earlier One UI updates. However, it’s debated whether the software itself triggers the problem or merely coincides with an underlying hardware vulnerability that becomes apparent over time.
Samsung has previously addressed similar issues with free screen replacements for models like the Galaxy S20 and S21 series, especially in regions like India, where campaigns ran as recently as 2024. However, as of now, there’s no widespread confirmation of a similar program for the S23 series globally, and some users report that Samsung’s screen replacement campaign for earlier models has ended, leaving repairs at the owner’s expense outside of warranty.
For affected S23 users, contacting Samsung Support is a recommended step. They might offer assistance, such as a free inspection or repair if the device is still under warranty, though out-of-warranty repairs could be costly. Some troubleshooting tips floating around—like rebooting in safe mode—rarely fix this, as it’s likely a hardware fault rather than a software glitch.
This recurrence is disappointing for a flagship line, especially for loyal Samsung customers. The sentiment among users, as seen in various online discussions, reflects frustration with the brand’s quality control, particularly since the S23 series was marketed as a refined product. If you’re an S23 owner worried about this, avoiding unnecessary heat exposure and being cautious with updates (checking community feedback first) might help, though there’s no guaranteed prevention.
What are your thoughts on this? Are you experiencing it yourself or just curious about the situation?

Just go down to Samsung Service Centre at Plaza Sing and observe. Daily argument erupt with the customers and the manager about their Samsung screen. They like to shift blames about how the screen is damage due to minor scratches on the phone body. And charge consumer over $300 plus for the screen repair.

Another issue is those flip and fold screens after 6 months it will auto shut down when you open the screen due to the flex cable snap. They will also shift blame and want consumer to pay for the repair if it's out of warranty.

If u tell me Samsung invented some irresistible and uncopyable tech feature then maybe can buy the Samsung despite the line.

But their design is stagnated and never innovate. How to buy
