Sapphire 7850HD problem?

Hi guys, as above. The 2 fans on board this card are turning during power up but during POST, got 1 long beep n 2 short beeps, n never get to display anything on monitor. I then switch to on board graphic, remove power from Sapphire, desktop can start up. Is this graphic card problem? Card was bought in 2012. Thanks.

can u try cleaning your gpu gold contact with soft eraser and re-seat it and see if it still have signal. next which mobo are u using? is there another GPU slots for u to test? if yes den try to slot it and see.

next if u have spare gpu, can try to test it. spare psu also can try and see.

Video card error, clean contacts and see first

Check if fan is spinning (depends on model cause some fans don't spin on idle) or if anything lights up

but based on the error it threw up, GPU might be the problem

Hi, motherboard is Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V, rev 1.1. Sapphire is a PCIexpress and only 1 slot available on mobo. Fans are spinning on the Sapphire. Did not see any lights on the Sapphire and do not know if there r any in the 1st place. Before all this, my son informed that pc hanged, then unable to shut down. Then when I took over for simple troubleshooting, found that spare hdd is having bad sector, then display adaptor is also not showing in device manager for Sapphire. Reboot pc, intermittent boot up, or very long time to display windows logo, can only see black screen with movable cursor. Remove spare hdd, n able to boot up properly. So, I think I got 2 problems on hand, one is confirmed hdd, the next is graphic card.

so the clean contacts thing don't work eh...

No more warranty. Bought in 2012 whole rig. Anyway, just bought a new hdd. Will see how it goes. Hopefully the Sapphire can come back to life. Thanks guys.

i think a 2nd hand gpu, with some warranty (1 year), shouldn't cost too much? but the problem is the 7850/7950 are labeled as R7/R8 iirc, so prices MIGHT not be as low as they should be, if you want something of similar specs.

Hi, I was looking at the hard copy list from PCT n Fuwell, taken last sat, do not see a $170 price for this card. $188 is the lowest for a Palit brand.

Just placed order for a Palit 1060 3gb from Lazada sales. New hdd is working, reformat n reinstalled everything.
