That's what put me on hold on the R290X. Wait a while n see how GTX 980 price like then decide. I don't on air con all the time in study room and even I using TJ11 casing, doubt the heat would be idle lor.

Now also aiming at the new LG 34" IPS LED. Curve type, nice.

No need wait, gtx 980 price wun drop de... till next gen announced and released, or at least till next yr june.

Even if price drop in USA, singapore market will be very slow to react.

At $450 still not a good deal. Performs slightly slower than the 780ti slightly above 780.

In terms of new cards performs marginal faster than 970 but slower than 980.

Price range gap

Sapphire r9 290x 4gb ~ $449
Zotac GTX 970 4gb ~ $458

The 970 by zotac is still a better buy considering lower heat output and power consumption. Overclock a little bit more and it will be as fast as the 290x.

Well comparing old tech with new tech. If really wanna have amd cards, wait till they come with new cards then may be can fair.
