Sapphire Reference Radeon RX 480 Disassembled

A Sapphire reference design Readeon RX 480 graphics card was taken apart, showing us all of the vital components and giving us a really good look at the cooling solution. So if you want to know exactly what is powering the Radeon RX 480 we have it all for you!

First let’s start with the card itself. This is a reference-designed card so there are no real differences between this card and other RX 480’s except for the fact that the card has a Sapphire sticker on the blower fan. Sapphire is going with their typical retail packaging on this card, with a cyborg adorning the front of box.

Really depends on how much heat it output. If its below 150w. Technically you dont need heatpipes to cool it off. Its just like our PC lga2011 cpu. You just need a normal heatsink fan to cool it.

Yes one do not really need backplate if the card is short and light.

Seems like the perfect card for a MITX system if you're not using anything more than a 1440p monitor...

Small size, low temperature/cooling requirement... Price quite cheap too...
