Sept 1910. Japanese sent a dozen masters to fight with 霍, but he ordered his apprentices to compete and they won the fight.

Japan team leader however managed to fight with 霍 and he lost to 霍.

However, 霍 died shortly at age 41, some suspected of japanese poisoning him.

In my opinion, the effectiveness of traditional martial arts in actual combat or tournaments are questionable as they are mostly based on tiagong or written articles. They can talk or write until their martial arts can 1 punch 1 kill...until proven otherwise.

actually... I can understand why the boxer doesn't want to fight with Chinese martial artist...

boxers can kill via punching but need time...

previous Chinese martial art went out to break joints, act throat, eyes, groin...

it's like two different sports...
