In yet another sign that print is in its decline, Basheer Graphic Books sends out an appeal to help it keep its bookstore of dominantly art and design titles in business. Visit the store to do your bit: purchase old and out-of-print titles for between $3 and $8, or interior design books at 20 to 80 per cent off their regular retail prices, and while you're at it, pick up a spine or two of their formidable range of cult indie mags and designer stationery to show your support. Sale ends 30 June.

My favourite place since design sch days.
prefer paperback & hardcover over digital

Unfortunately...nowadays design students don't buy books.
Itz worth knowledge investment if they wanna continue
this career for long.

not sure what you mean. The same knowledge is easier to get right now and all within the click and swipe of your fingertips. I dont see how their career is at stake.

Dont get me wrong, i too, grew up with the smell of lovely design books by graphis and the likes and feel sad that Basheer books is on a decline, but its just how it is i guess.

As much as id like to help and purchase what i can, i just dont have space to keep all these books. And some might be irrelevant when the next design trend comes along. I'll be honest here and say that i have not bought anything from them since 2007-2008. And it was also because they went over to my then company that i work for selling their stuffs, and we chose what was most relevant to us.

There will be a handfull of ppl who will cling onto the love of flipping a design book and it will remain small, similar to the number of ppl still enjoying film.analog photography, vinyl records etc etc.

Lets just hope that the shop wont dissapear entirely.
