I have chatted with a fake profiled guy in one of the dating apps. He said he is doing investment and want to help me grow my money. I wanted to meet him up but he said due to covid it will be inconvenient to meet. But he can assist me through this app called BTCUMB. You cannot find this app in AppStore. It is a link he sent so I downloaded from the link. He asked me to use Binance to top up my money and transferred it to BTCUMB.
Every night, he will tell me to press MORE or EMPTY at a certain timing. I will definitely earn 20% more. It’s a success every single time. He asked me to pump in more money so I can earn more. But I told him I don’t have much money left (actually I just wanted to be safe). He told me it’s okay, he will continue to help me. The last transaction, he told me to press the same thing again, and it failed. The entire amount got wiped out.
He told me it was a scam. He apologized for his action. He said he was being controlled to do this. He was scammed to work as a scammer. He was being sent from China to Myanmar. People are holding guns and wars happening every time. He have no choice but to complete as many transactions or else he will be punished or starved. You either choose to be a scammer there or you choose to do hard labor.
He told me there are potential victims out there e.g DBS directors etc... falling into their traps. Losing more than SGD50,000.
Although the amount I lost wasn’t big, but I have learnt a lesson from this. I tried to Google scam for this app but I couldn’t find any. I thought it’s real. So I hope by voicing out here, I can help the people out there who is facing the same scam as mine.
I have many photos to share but I don’t know how to post it here. Kindly contact me if you need more info.
Take care fellow Singaporeans!
