Report the scam on scam shield app. Then ask them to send u evidence of their scams and SS them. If everyone plays their part, we will eventually be able to find all these local scammers. Many of them are actually Malaysians.

How will I know if the phone retailer I go to will misuse my info or not when I sign up for a new line and that retailer takes a pic of my IC? He could at later stage use my IC to sign up for another line without my knowledge right? How to avoid?

Recently received 2 spam calls, both without +65

They know my full name, and claim my phone number has been reported to be spamming and will be terminated within the next 2 hours.

Both have tell-tale signs of a scam

1st case: Spoke English in Filipino accent, listed a number that I do not own. I tell her go ahead and terminate ba, also not my number

2nd case: spoke in PRC mandarin. Stated my full name and phone number. I jitao asked him are you a scammer? He say nonono, won’t be asking you for account details or to pay any amount within this phone call (we all know that will come at a later stage). Then I asked him, this is Singapore, why will any official representative speak to me in Mandarin for any official purpose?

You actually spoke to the scammers? You’re not afraid they’ll record your voice and use AI to clone your voice and speech pattern to improve their success in scamming your family and friends?
