Why, yes. Ender's game, Neuromancer, 1984, Hitchhiker's guide.

A more recent published one would be Ready Player One. It's awesome.

Me! Introduced into the sf genre with the Uglies by Scott Westerfield, then The Giver series by Lois Lowry. This genre has lots to be explored, but personally I prefer paranormal/advanced sci&tech stuff.
