Screen flicker on Windows 7 CQ45 121TX

I have a CQ45 Laptop, about 5 yrs old.
A couple of months back on startup the screen started to flicker.
the flicker made the screen image jerk for a few minutes after startup.

Now the screen is showing a greenish tinged flicker.

On connecting to a projector, the projected image is fine.
Any suggestions what to do now ?
Could this be a low expense problem or better to get a new one ?

am checking the available models. damage about 1300.
to get this one checked and repaired if possible - damage 100 - 400.
