Did your LOA states that it is 6 mths probation contract?
If u got better offer and prospect, it's better to move on if they do not counter-offer you.

I'm a little confused.
So you want to stay at the company, or do you want to leave the company for another company?

If it's the former, I suggest you approach the HR and 'demand' your confirmation letter. Nobody likes to be hanging in the air.

However, if it's the latter, just tender and off you go. Why do you need to care for their feelings etc? It's a 'you for yourself, dog eat dog' world.

There is only one bottom line question. Are you penalized in anyway, financial or otherwise, if you tender without the confirmation letter?

(Usually, the answer is no. That's why you have a probation phase. :s13:)

I don't to ask what happen but next time, before you sign on the dotted line, ask clearly from HR what is the probation period.

What does probation mean for you and the company anyway? Occasionally there are companies that actually use probation as what it's meant for.

Most places, it's just a formality since there isn't any increment or increase in benefits when you are confirmed.

My take is... Just leave.

Since you already got another job offer.

If they wanted you that much, you would have been confirmed already without you having to ask multiple times. Once you tender, remember, don't look back. Don't let anyone persuade you to stay because, if you have to threaten to leave just to get a confirmation, god bless you for salary increments in the future, or any other issues you may encounter.
