Anyone knows or who has been through or presently undergoing the new SCS courses/training?
The SISPEC is now restructured and called SCS wef April 2010, it seems.
The course seems to be structured into 3 terms as follows, but can anyone verify the duration of each term, please:-

BSLC(Basic Section Leaders Course) aka Foundation Term: 8 wks
Vocation Specialist Course aka Professional Term: 12 wks
Combined-Arms Term: 1 wk

Vocation Specialist Course depends on which arms u will bare i.e. signals arti etc. if ur course is longer then 12 weeks, aft combine arms u will go back to ur institude to carry on ur course.
other then tt the rest are true

foundation term = 8 weeks
pro term = 14 weeks
CAT= 1 1/2 weeks

there are only 2 vocations that really i know of that require a longer pro term. armour and recce commanders course. for armour you still go for the CAT together with the same batch of SCC people. after the CAT, you'll go back to ATI for further training before actually receiving your chevrons.

RCC, you'll actually have to join the next CAT.

Professional Term is actually 13 wks or 14 wks?
Combined-Arms Term about 1 wk plus? Then, does it mean that after completing Pro-Term, all SCTs would leave their respective Arms Vocation Training Institutes, return to Specialist Cadet School(at Pasir Laba Camp) for Combined-Arms Term, and stay in there together till graduation and get 3SG rank?

The rest of the combat or combat service support may nt get to train overseas, but u should have a chance to go overseas at least once after u pass out and go to unit... For those exercises and stuff, confirm have one

they can try all they want but they somehow create perfect acronyms that basically describe the school

SCS = second class soldier
