Seagate freeagent can't read

Hi peeps,

Seagate freeagent has that led light thing which glows when plugged in. So currently mine the led lights still work when plugged in, the icon for a hdd still shows up on my computer, but when I try to access, the comp will hang. Any cure for that or any other way to access my data?

does it happen to your com only or on any com?

do you have another ext hdd? does it work?

tried 3-4 comps. A few of them can't even detect the HDD.
Yup, got a buffalo shock thinggie. works fine.

A few options available:
1. remove casing and direct connect to desktop sata port
2. professional data recovery ...... sure burn a big hole in your pocket.
