I would like to seek advice on where to purchase sealed lead acid batteries for UPS.

The back story is this. I bought a battery (CSB HR1234W F2) to replace the current unit which the UPS prompted me to get it changed out. Went to this shop at SLT which specialized in batteries. Got a replacement quickly as I basically changed to the identical model. Few days later, I woke up to the UPS having shut down on it's own. Shut as in it did not even enter battery mode. And neither did the unit trip as the breaker did not need to be reset.

Thought the UPS died so I went out to buy a new unit. Pop in the battery from the new unit and voila, it worked perfectly. Pop the old battery into the new UPS and it did not turn on.

So well ok... likely to be the fault of the battery. Brought the battery to the shop and was told outright that there is no 'warranty' whatsoever. The battery measured just 6V. I was told by the seller that she could attempt to charge it up but as far as I am concerned, for the battery to drop to 6V, it had to be damaged.

I walked since I am not prepared to pay another $40 to them.

So now I am looking to replace the APC RBC17 and RBC33. Both are using 9AH batteries. Any idea where I can procure them? I head Panasonic ones are quite good.

Thanks.

Have you tried to check if the old UPS is charging the battery?

Although your old UPS may power up with a new battery installed, it may not be charging the battery. This could be why the initial battery you installed was drained after some time (showing 6V).

IMHO.
Always check the voltage when buying new SLA.
While voltage alone is not comprehensive, it serves as an indicator.
SLA needs to be maintained regularly by charging.
If loses it capacity over time if left in storage.

Please check up sim lim tower back lane level 2. Forget their shop name but online store I think is Uni-cell.

Has same experience with SLT shop, battery could have kept for long time and cannot hold charge any more.

Unicell doesn't carry original APC brand replacements but their own OEM brand. Price quoted is quite good but not sure of its quality as I prefers original manufacturer parts replacement.

Electricity + battery cannot play play skimp cost and quality.
