search function on HWZ

Hi,

can any improvement be made on the search function? right now theres this problem when you are trying to search for a phrase with words that are very common. eg. im trying to search for this string "The last of us", but this is the result i get.

if i were to use google search.

its rather unfriendly if the phrase that i want to search just happens to have words that are too common.

It's a known limitation.

The former is a direct VBB DB search and there are limits to it only because of the high activity and usage of the forums. These limitation are set to prevent the server from taking too much time to process the query and thus disrupt the QOS for the rest of the users.

The latter is a direct Google search that is is based off countless worldwide servers with cached search content to boot.

You can't possibly match that.

However, you can use the site-wide search that follows you wherever you are - it's the grey bar on top of your screen. It uses the Google search engine. Do a search of what you want and then click on the "Forums" tab to see content from the forums. By default the search will only show the main site content.
