Hi there,

I am not a web developer, I am just wanting to create a personal website to showcase my project and work.
I hope to find a course work or online courses that can advise on the following:
  1. When to choose shared hosting or VPS
  2. When to write code from scratch, use a framework or use a CMS
  3. What are some of the useful features in cPanel
  4. What is the best way to scrape website and display on the site
  5. How to use web services

If you have no experience in web design or web development at all, the easiest way to start is to use a CMS.

If you have a Gmail account, you can start experimenting hosting your own sites on Google Cloud with USD300 credits given.

There are a few ready made CMS images / control panel (used to build a server) available on the market place (login at https://console.cloud.google.com), which you can spin up and experiment around.

You'd need a domain name, create one at https://admin.google.com. Go for the free evaluation option for a start.

You have quite a variety of questions, start Googling to find out more, or if you have specific question please post here.
