What if I tell you the top of the herd 850W Titanium rated version only cost SG$281.34 with free shipping on Amazon?

It doesn't even reach $300 - $400 as you were expecting right? :s13:

That is what I meant by price markup in my earlier post before. It is by Corbell. Not Seasonic themselves.
But it is a price you pay for a local warranty of 10 years. (having that extra assurance by Corbell isn't that bad)

For me, since Amazon will be coming to Singapore soon, I just gambled with sticking to the Amazon one since Corbell mentioned that they will not be bringing in the Titanium rated one. Reason being it is too expensive. But you can clearly see the Amazon listing being cheaper than the 850W Platinum rated version being sold by Corbell. :s13:

Though I bought mine back in December (SG$260.96 back then) and opted for the fastest shipping so mine is in the $300+ range.

for the same price better get a higher tier manufacturer that use japanese capacitors instead of chinese ones

quick question even u say to get different higher tier manufacturer that using japanese capacitor.......and this series using chinese or dont know what capacitor how come they provide 10 years warranty then?..........does it mean that 10 years warranty not enough to convince consumer it is good?.i dont know about u guys how many times do u all always change a new psu if it don't give u any problem unless for upgrade..........maybe when i got bored with the look now and then i started to get different psu for that reason............for the price maybe but quality.........10 years warranty :s22:....

depend of the psu warranty covered of the manufacturer.....is it covered 3yrs or 5yrs etc with that kind of low price?.....this psu is 10 years warranty surely a bit expensive due to that:s13:

Assuming that your bank offers you USD to SGD at interbank rates of 1.41. 1.44 (assuming 0.03 spread) is more realistic.

The Amazon price of USD199.99 is a sale price. The list price is 219.99.

Add in 7% for GST, Singapore SRP would work out to 219.99 X 1.44 X 1.07 = SGD339 without mark up. The question is how much you would pay for warranty since that service is a cost for distro. Let's say 20%, 2% per year for 10 years, and the price goes up to SGD407.

The choice then is between Amazon 199.99 X 1.44 = SGD288 and local at SGD407 with distro warranty. Bear in mind that the local price does not take into account Qoo10/Lazada discounts etc.

Excellent 20% markup.. everyone 5 ppl buy, they have a free PSU.. and how many in 5 fail in 10 years??

Even if it's 1 in 5 fail, what loss is distro making?

It is this outdated monopolistic thinking that give rise to online retailers

Local distro days are outdated.. good luck

BBMTL.....there is a usd$20 mail-in rebate if you buy now till end feb. Free shipping and no gst and amazon charge 1.49xxx now making the the 850w version almost sgd $20 cheaper.

why are you paying via amazon charge? only beginners does that leh.

USD199.99 x 1.45 = SGD289.99 /-

FLAT. exclude CC rebates somemore.

Distro is $407 - Amazon $289.99 = $117.01

US$20 rebate is for US address and US citizens only. CGW address is not counted.

You all seriously treat topic damn serious.

And how come usd only 1.45 lol. Just few days back it was at 1.49.

Anyway different PSU to account for also. Corbell is selling the Platinum version rather than the Titanium version.

850w corbell selling $319. 850w Titanium version Amazon selling $296 after converting.

So 10 years of warranty. Not forgetting that shipment to US for a faulty PSU like this huge a$$ PSU is not cheap either. Say all you want about "oh i buy from amazon, till today bo taiji". Till the day when you will need to send heavy things back to US is the day you will start to realise how expensive it was and whether is it worth it.

And talking about shipping to US, im not talking about RMA through Amazon. You deal direct with Seasonic US.

Thanks to trump. Now only 1.40 include spread also cannot be 1.49.

That is if you really use the warranty. More often than not, i throw my psu due to dirt than being faulty so probably i might take the gamble if ita cheaper.

+1, shipping anything other than a featherweight letter is bloody expensive. Buying from Amazon is lucrative simply cos they are big logistics user thus shipping is heavily discounted.

9kg parcel from Amazon
Standard Shipping (UPS Saver) - $95
Official UPS Saver tariff - $300

1.4kg parcel from local (edit: local Swiss) shop
SwissPost registered international - $68
SwissPost un-registered international - $47

IMO, pay more for local warranty for psu still okay lah. Even if chibaboom and even if no 1-1 exchange, will have loan psu to use. Better than running down to SLS to buy FSP Hexa while sending psu back to Trumpland for dunno how much will SingPost charge
