Hi , yesterday I bought a seasonic psu 850w gold X-series from sls shp, last night installed it along with a gtx 980 Ti golden edition into my desktop but my desktop failed to power on. nothing runs , all fans dead silent and no post beep.

I replaced the psu with my old 620 watts , tooked out the gfx card , and with one dvd-rom , one hdd , rams attached power on the pc and the pc booted up with all fans running and the relevent post long beep.

Again I re-installed my new seasonic with the above configuration and pressed the power on button, this time the cpu fan spinned for 10 sec and then stopped. nothing else ran .

The cpu fan will run up for few seconds and stopped, and this only happenes when I off the switch in the wall mains and on it and pressed the pc power button

do I have a faulthy PSu so sad

You tested faulty then how will the shop tested ok?
Still with warranty so need not worry.

They are a reputable psu brand. Just so happened that you got the faulty unit out from the box.

Not to worry, just head back to the shop and do a 1 to 1.

it can be compatibility problem since the mb is bought few years back. have read some did tested ok at shop but pc cannot boot

anyway will know on sunday at sls fuwell. lucky I did not try to save a few bucks by buying from lesser shops lol.

have positive buying experience with fuwell, in fact my current pc was recommended and built by fuwell. :)

fuwell tested the psu. the psu ran up on the test equiptment .... no 1-1 :o

Somewhere in your pc could have cause the shortage at a certain area. Remove all your pc components and try it outside without the case.

Mmm, mayby one of the cables is causing the issue you. try different cables since you should have extra pieces that comes with it.

thats what I suspect too.... possible candidate is the 6/6 pin 12v to the mb .
the main 24 pin to mb cable is ok as that was used when fullwell unfriendly uncle tested the psu.

will look into tat but I did tried with both supplied cables for the 12 v ( if I remembered correctly)
