Securely erase data from dead hdd?

Hi all bros, would like to find out how can I securely erase data on my dead hdd and USB drive, without dismantling, hammering or any sorts. Old disks are taking up too much space and I wish to dispose them.

If the data are really sensitive, then go to company that do degaussing. They also provide HDD crushing service ... at a cost, of course.

good idea, salt will corrode those metal(unrecoverable data) and dumping it in sea will render it retrievable
